Today we were looking through our bucket of shells
that we collected from the beach yesterday.

We had lots of fun looking at the different shells.
But this one stood out among all of the rest...

Isn't that interesting that a sponge was attached to the shell?! It fascinated us.
I found this about sponges...
Sponges are sessile animals that grow attached to shells,
stones, and other hard objects on the bottom.
The sponges found cast onto the beach
are but the skeletons of former living animals
and bear little resemblance to living sponges.
Sessile (according to Webster):
permanently attached or established : not free to move about
"I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works."
~ Psalm 145:5
Very interesting looking shell you have there. That's really neat. And thanks for the sponge lesson. That was very informative!
