Tending to our sheep...

" Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks,
and to look well to thy herds."
~ Proverbs 27:23

A conservative, Christian, military family's journey in relaxed home education. A haven where academics are secondary to spiritual things and we strive to aim our precious 'arrows' toward the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Labor Day... Our Day of Labor...

Posted in Daily Life

Today we have been packing more of our things

and taking them to storage.

We have moved the amoire in our bedroom, our dry sink,

a bookshelf, our big mirror, and lots more boxes.

It's only our second day of packing and storing

and already the house is looking more empty.

My darling hubby asked me to clear one of the bookshelves in the den

and I did, but it was difficult (again).

I began with this...

Did this...

And ended with this...

Now I'm off to prepare for company.

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend.

We are! Hubby has today and tomorrow off.

We likely won't get much school finished

but we do have a couple of extra days with him!

Congratualtions!! How wonderful! I'm so happy for you on our Lord fulfilling the desires of your hearts. Are you moving to another town? A bigger home?

I wish we could move. Gosh it sounds so goofy, but I have been praying for that. My husband is not sure about it though. I want to move to the southwest. Having arthritis, rheumatic arthritis, and reynaud's disease, the winters here are terribly painful. But God has been faithful, and I am trusting on John to seek Him in that, and if Jersey is our home for ever, then we will be happy here, and God will help with the pain.

But I am thrilled for you. May He have the perfect home for your family just waiting for you to show up!!! And though packing is not what one would consider fun, may you deligh in it.

Wednesday, September 6, 2006 - holiday/song

Thoughts shared by Shereen

Like you, we enjoyed having beloved home for an extra day. I didn't want him to go back to work. I got used to having him near me the entire long weekend. I really like leaving you comments, but it interupts my listening tme to the song on your blog. lol Sometimes I wait until the song ends before I click on the comment link. ;0) There has to be a way around it. I tried opening another page of your blog, so I can listen to the song while leaving you comments, but then I have two songs playing at different stages. lol I remember being able to stop the song but I don't remember. Because then I can have one playing the entire time, open up your blog on another page and stop the music so I can comment and do the usual. Is that clear as mud or what?!?! lol ;0)
