Tending to our sheep...

" Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks,
and to look well to thy herds."
~ Proverbs 27:23

A conservative, Christian, military family's journey in relaxed home education. A haven where academics are secondary to spiritual things and we strive to aim our precious 'arrows' toward the Lord Jesus Christ.

So Far Today...

Posted in HomeSchool Happenings

After picking the house up a bit,

we spent a little time focusing on learning.

Ally spent time in her room doing Chemistry

(and, according to her, the largest amount

of calculating she's ever had to do...

but, bless her heart, she enjoyed it!)...

She also worked in Greek today, which she loves!

Will and I read two chapter from "Stories of the Pilgrims",

discussed through narration, and then he did a color page...

We were also going to read more of "Squanto: Friend of the Pilgrims"

but he informed me that he's just read it twice in the past two weeks

(not counting the other four or more times he has read it).

I had suspected he had finished it

because I have caught him reading it frequently.

So I decided to skip reading it aloud

(plus we had just read a bit about him in our other book)

and we drew a picture of Squanto...

He also did a bit of math.

Among the variety of things the lil' girls did,

I found them in my sitting room

sitting on all of the boxes.

They were playing and feeding their babies and stuffed animals

while reviewing their colors and shapes...

After lunch, I prepared our turkey to put in the oven for supper.

Will was interested and entertained as he saw what I pulled out of it.

Also, this afternoon we had an impromptu showing of the house.

We did sign a contract to sell it to someone else,

however, it has not been looking so well.

We are continuing to pray for the Lord's will

and that He will work out the details in His perfect timing.

Well, I'm off to take care of a lingering odor

coming from my dear Carolynne.

Friday, September 15, 2006 - Your posts

Thoughts shared by Shereen

;0( My bloglines wasn't updating your posts, I didn't know you had posted. I am on my way out the door in a few minutes, but I will catch up with all your comments and your posts as soon as I get back and get a chance on Sunday. I love when you post all the pictures. It makes me feel like I am there. I responded on my blog about not having furniture. I will post it here too, just in case.
"Hi Christina, LOL. No, we don't have any cushions that we pull out. lol Not too long ago, we thought we were going to move, so since our furniture was really old, and kind of cheap (we bought it when we were married, at the age of 19) we figured we would throw everything out, and buy new furniture at the new house. It turns out the Lord had different plans for us. ;0) So we now are in the process of refurnishing our home. Our family room has a sofa, we have a dining table, etc. But that side of the house is completely empty. The children love to run on that side. ;0)"

I hope you and your family have a great weekend, and that the Lord continue to draw you all closer to Him and to each other.
Blessings,
Shereen
