Friday's Fillings...

Posted in Daily Life

Today was a bit of a slowly kind of day.

Darling hubby has had a few late nights this week with work

so we were up a little late last night.

He had come home yesterday evening

so I could go to our homeschool meeting.

He's such a sweetie.

Then when I returned home he had to go back

into work for a while.

He's, now, zonked out on the couch from exhaustion.

I'm sure he is looking forward to

much needed recuperation this weekend.

The humidity was back up today

so the children and I spent most of our time inside.

I continued to chisel away at Mount Washmore

and managed to put some of the laundry away.

We also cleaned the house up and spent some time playing.

I found Will and Beth coloring in a color book together...

Carolynne sat at the table, too, and colored before her nap...

Meanwhile, Ally did her chemistry experiment in the kitchen...

I have to say that I wasn't smiling as much as she was.

I had a bit of a concerned mother look

as I watched her put two wires

into a beaker of baking soda water

as the other ends were connected to a 9volt battery.

But it did end up being fascinating

as we watched the wires bubble in the water.

She was also thrilled to have completed

her list of periodic elements

that she was typing on the computer

and she was able to print them out to hang on her wall.

As Carolynne laid down for her nap,

Will and Beth spent a little time outside playing...

It's always a blessing to see them playing well together.

Later, after getting the house ready for Daddy to arrive,

my dear husband made it home from work.

I was glad he was greeted by smiling children,

a smiling wife, a clean home,

and the smell of sourdough pizza baking in the oven.

After supper, he spent some time playing with the children.

He talked and wrestled a little with Will.

Then he 'toddler waltzed' with the lil' girls

as our classical music was playing in the background.

After the younger ones went to bed,

he spent time talking with Ally and playing a game with her.

Then he gave into much needed rest

as he was laying on the couch.

We were able to spend a bit of time together, too,

as I was taking pizzas out of the oven.

We were even able to 'steal' a few moments out on the deck,

sitting in the rocker to talk about our day.

It was a brief, but special, time.

I hope everyone else has enjoyed their Friday.

I just happened upon your website while on 5 minutes for Mom. I love it. I just started to homeschool my children this year and I'm absolutely loving it. I'm learning so much from them.

You look very happy.

God Bless.

Yes, that would have scared me as well. I'm happy to hear that it turned out all right. That really was sweet that your beloved was able to come home so you could make it out to the homeschool meeting. I've never attended one. I'm pretty bad when it comes to meetings and get togethers, etc.
