Tending to our sheep...

" Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks,

~ Proverbs 27:23

A conservative, Christian, military family's journey in relaxed home education. A haven where academics are secondary to spiritual things and we strive to aim our precious 'arrows' toward the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thursday's Things...

Posted in Daily Life

This morning we prepared for a second showing of our house.

Ally and I did a little needed 'extra' scrubbing.

She started working in the kitchen...

And also worked in her and the children's bathroom.

I worked in my bedroom and bathroom.

Carolynne even helped clean, too, with some paper towels.

She enjoyed being mama's lil' helper.

And Ally was mama's big helper.

We also put the folded laundry away

that was stacked in the laundry room,

dusted, vacuumed, and other miscellaneous things.

Will and Beth worked at picking things up off of the floor

and putting them where they belong (a few toys, books, etc...)

After Will and Beth were finished,

Beth colored at the table while Will worked in a wordsearch book...

I couldn't help but notice what Will did with the crayons for Beth...

They were all thrown in a basket (our 'crayon basket')

but he took them all out so Beth could find the colors she needed.

In addition, he organized them according to color.

I thought that was quite sweet... and quite interesting.

Meanwhile, Carolynne stood at the living room table

looking at the presidents...

Interested in politics this soon?? lol

That is actually one of our children's favorite placemats.

We like to buy educational placemats like that.

They all really enjoy them... from the youger ones to the older ones...

and even up to the adults.

You'd be amazed at what you can learn from a placemat

and it always makes interesting table conversation.

After we were finished cleaning,

Will did a couple of exercises in his math book

and Ally worked on some of her academics.

When I checked in on her, she was working on her Writing...

During our 'showing' of the house,

Beth and Will went outside to play,

use up some energy, and spin around...

Carolynne waited patiently inside...

She hasn't enjoyed playing outside much lately

because she is afraid of all the 'love bugs' we've been having.

Later in the day, Ally practiced on her violin...

I enjoyed listened to her as I began preparing supper.

It was good day... and we rejoiced in it.

It also seems that our second 'showing' of the house went well.

We are expecting to sign a contract tomorrow

and are continuing to pray and trust the Lord in working out the details.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thursday.

"This is the day which the LORD hath made;

we will rejoice and be glad in it." ~  Psalm 118:24

I'll bet we have similar books on our shelves too... except mine are actually on the shelves and yours are in boxes right now! Load em up and move em out!

I have really enjoyed your blog. We used to be military. It is always exciting getting ready to move! The picture of your little girl asleep on the couch is adorable. I have one on my site of my son in a similar position! It is funny how they can just fall asleep anywhere!!

Whoa! Wait... you have to be ready to pick up and go in 24 days? Wow!! Do you know where you are going? I have heard this happens to military families often. Do you get a general choice, or is it where ever they send you? It wonderful they children are at home, no need to worry about the new school they have to adjust to! Are they as excited?

You children are priceless. Thanks for letting us in to your home. Its like a cup of tea on a lovely afternoon.
