Tending to our sheep...

" Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks,
and to look well to thy herds."
~ Proverbs 27:23

A conservative, Christian, military family's journey in relaxed home education. A haven where academics are secondary to spiritual things and we strive to aim our precious 'arrows' toward the Lord Jesus Christ.

Popping in to Say Hello...

Posted in Military Matters

Yeah! I was able to get a few moments on my brother-in-law's laptop

so I could post real quick.

Working on a laptop is quite different

than working on my regular computer.

But I'll need to be getting used to it for the next month or more.

It's not too bad, but I do prefer mine.

Well, we arrived to our destination Friday evening, safe and sound.

Thank you to those that kept us in prayer.

Our trip here was quite... interesting.

On our trip up, I drove the van and my husband drove his motorcycle

so he could leave it here at his brother's house

when we return home this coming weekend.

The weather was beautiful for motorcycle riding...

that is until we reached the last couple hours of our drive.

There was a steady, cold drizzle

(and occasionally some 'regular' rain)

and my poor husband had to ride his motorcycle in it.

There was also a 20 degree drop in the temperature from SC to NC!!

Needless to day, my beloved was very chilly!

But we praise the Lord the he did not catch a cold.

Since being here we have been able to visit with a couple of friends

and family (my husband's brother and wife).

We were also able to visit a local church this morning

and have been able to 'explore' the surrounding areas,

which has been nice to do.

One thing I have loved is seeing the beautiful cotton fields.

They have brought back fond memories from my youth.

We hope to look at houses this week

and are praying the Lord will direct us in what to do.

The children have been enjoying the visiting we've done

and have enjoyed playing outdoors.

Ally has even studied through her Chemistry.

We expect to have a busy week

and look forward to getting home this coming weekend

for a little rest and relaxation before our busy week next week.

Thank you all for your prayers as we are making this transition.

I'm off to rest for tomorrow...

Glad to hear you made it safely. I live in NC, too...and this weekend's weather was not the best NC has to offer! We relented and turned on our heat. I hope all goes well this week...moving is such a mix of emotions with lots to do thrown in the mix. The weather looks like it's going to be nice the rest of the week.

I'm interested in which base you are going to. We've spent MUCH time there, and I'm STILL missing it out here in the desert. We actually desire to retire there. And hopefully go back there for our next duty station.
Anyways. You don't have to share, but if you want to I'm just curious where you're going and where you're looking to buy a house and whatnot. AND what CHURCH you visited, because I know a couple of REALLY great ones!!

I've never seen a cotton field: corn, tobacco, soy, wheat, but no cotton!
I hope you're able to find a solid church quickly and am praying that all the other details will fall into place with your move!
Blessings,
