Getting Settled In...

Posted in Daily Life

Wow! It's been almost a week since I've blogged, again.

We have been keeping busy with unpacking lots of boxes

and finding a place for all of our things.

We also have been sorting through our things

and downsizing where we can.

With moving into base housing, we have lost about 500 square feet,

but we are pleasantly surprised at how we are able to

manuever our things into cozy little places.

I have also enjoyed the downsizing process,

learning to let go of 'things' we have held on to.

I have been particularly proud of Ally in this.

She has downsized her room to a bare minimum

using the mission field as her guide.

"If I can't take it to the mission field, then I don't need it",

she's been saying.

How that thrills my heart to hear.

I am proud of her and she has been my encourager

in letting some of my things go.

She was thrilled to get her piano back.

And the children were excited to get more of our books.

I found them reading while Ally was playing piano a few days ago...

We still have lots of boxes in the garage and some upstairs

but our house is beginning to look like a home.

I hope to pick up with our learning next week

and hope to be able to post regularly again.

Thank you all for your kind comments and prayers!

I hope to catch up on commenting soon.

Enjoy your week!

Your daughter's attitude blessed my heart! What an amazing girl. How exciting to see her heart for the Lord.

Hope you settle in quickly.

I was so happy to see that you blogged today. I was thinking about you all this morning. Wow, it looks like you are really settled in there. What a precious picture. I can't wait for you to start blogging again regularly. ;0) You've been missed. What a blessing Ally's attitude has been. God is so good. I'm happy to hear that you got housing on base so quickly.
Gotta run. I'll be back later on.
Blessings

Looks like things are somewhat back to normal for you. It was sweet hearing how your daughter uses the mission field to decide if she will keep or let something go. That's precious. That made me proud and she's not even my child. LOL Isn't God good?

I am glad that you are getting settled in so nicely! I too, was very impressed with Ally's attitude towards her "things". I think that is an attitude we all should adopt!
