Tending to our sheep...

" Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks,
and to look well to thy herds."
~ Proverbs 27:23

A conservative, Christian, military family's journey in relaxed home education. A haven where academics are secondary to spiritual things and we strive to aim our precious 'arrows' toward the Lord Jesus Christ.

Daddy's Gifts...

Posted in Military Matters

Yesterday we saw my beloved off to Iraq.
A special thank you to those that have been praying.
What a comfort it is to know we have been covered in prayer.

I wanted to share the photos of the gifts we got the children.
Daddy gave them their gifts yesterday before he left.

I’m not going to narrate with these photos… just share the moments…

When we arrived home, after dropping him off,
these were waiting for me at the door… from my beloved…

Monday, January 8, 2007 - Couldn't help it

Thoughts shared by Happymama

I couldn't help but cry as I looked at your pictures. Oh, I know a military wife expects this. After all, it is his job. But it sure doesn't make it any easier! Just want you to know that I'm definitely praying for your dear husband and for you, and for your children. I know you all miss him very much.

There was a young man from our church shipped out to Iraq from Pope Air Base yesterday...Daniel Grigg. His orders were given very suddenly with no warning and his wife is devastated. She hasn't been a wife, much less a military wife, for very long. Her name is Charity and they have a newborn baby and a young son. Please remember Daniel and Charity when you pray for your husband.

Monday, January 8, 2007 - your beloved

Thoughts shared by Shereen

I just wanted to say that I will continue to pray for your beloved and your precious family until he returns. Oh, I better go. This post was just too much for me. My tears are coming down, and I can't see the screen.

Tuesday, January 9, 2007 - I know we all know how it feels...

Thoughts shared by abrightnewdawn

but it sure never makes it any easier. I love the daddy dolls, I meant to tell you that before, if I didn't all ready. Might get a few myself next time around.
My prayer is not only for your husband's safety, as well as your family, but that the time passes swiftly and with the least encounters of difficulty as possible.
Great post, choked me up! And that takes a lot!! ;)

How sweet and thoughtful of your beloved to record reading stories for your children. :) What a precious gift for them and you. :) I will keep praying for him, you, and your family while he is in Iraq. May the Lord's faithful presence and peace rest upon you. :)

Wednesday, January 10, 2007 - I have been thinking of you.

Thoughts shared by WagsWife

I just wanted you to know that I have been thinking of you the past couple of days. I pray that you and the kids are settling in O.K. The first few days are the hardest for us. Hopefully your husband will be able to call you in a couple of days.

The pictures are wonderful. I am sure the kids are holding onto "Daddy" tightly.
