Tending to our sheep...

" Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks,
and to look well to thy herds."
~ Proverbs 27:23

A conservative, Christian, military family's journey in relaxed home education. A haven where academics are secondary to spiritual things and we strive to aim our precious 'arrows' toward the Lord Jesus Christ.

Daddy Read-Aloud CD...

Posted in Military Matters

Before my husband left, he spent some time at the computer
making something special for the children to have while he is away.

He was reading books into a microphone on the computer
so the children could have their daddy reading to them while he is gone.
I walked in while he was reading and my heart ached with joy
as I heard him and saw him reading those books.
It was such a precious moment for me to see.

I just wanted to share a couple of photos of him as he was ‘working’…

I know the children will love listening (as soon as I put them on a cd).
I have to say… I think my husband does a wonderful job at reading aloud.
Surprisingly to me, he even managed to work in his own ‘quirkiness’,
that the children are accustomed to hearing when he reads to them,
during his read aloud session at the computer.

He also took some time to record for them a special ‘Daddy message’.

What a blessing it will be for the children to listen to those recordings…
and for me as well.

P.S. For some reason, I am unable to view this post's permanent link
so I am unable to read the comments for this post. :-(
I'm hoping that it will resolve itself but until then,
please feel free to post your comment on a different entry
so that I'm able to read it. So sorry for the inconvenience.
I even tried to re-post and it didn't work... hmmm...

Wednesday, January 10, 2007 - Your blog made me cry!

Thoughts shared by Littlebitofeverythingmama

I'm crying and I passed on your blog to my best girlfriend. Then she says - I love the buddy pillows. I have no idea what she is talking about because I didn't scroll down that far. And so, I start bawling again!!

My husband actually told me that you had commented on my blog - as I didn't see it (need to check on that). He is a former Marine.

I'm praying for your family!!!
