Welcome to HsKubes' HomeSchool Haven

Tending to our sheep...

" Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks,
and to look well to thy herds."
~ Proverbs 27:23

A conservative, Christian, military family's journey in relaxed home education. A haven where academics are secondary to spiritual things and we strive to aim our precious 'arrows' toward the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sing Me a Song, Mama...

Posted in Joyful Mother

This evening, as I was putting our son to bed,
he asked me if I could sing him a song.
It had been a couple of nights since I had sang to him
so I told him, “Sure! What song?”
I thought he was going to pick one of his ‘usuals’
but he surprised me with a different song.
It was one that I already knew, but hadn’t expected him to request.

He said, “Can you sing ‘Trust and Obey’, please?
Because that’s what I’m trying to do.”
Oh, how that melted my heart!
I sang him two stanzas of “Trust and Obey” and we said our good-nights.
Oh, how I thank the Lord for those moments
when He allows me to see the tenderness in my child’s heart.

my blog. I came to visit yours and feel like I have been blessed for the day. Your blog is beautiful and all that it contains.

I will be adding your husband and your family to our prayers. Please thank him for what he is doing. This is one American family who truly appreciates the sacrfices he is doing for not only the USA but for my family. And I will be praying for you as you sacrifice alongside of him.

May your weekend be filled with joy from your Heavenly Father.

I linked your daughters blog to my princesses. I'm not sure if they have already met each other via blogs.. Sometimes they are way ahead of me on that kind of stuff.LOL.

What a treasured moment. I think of you often, Christina, now that your husband is gone. Your farewell posts with the dolls were so poignant. I pray for you when I think of you all being strong on the homefront while Papa is serving his country valiantly. What encouragement to have godly families in the militray. Stay strong, my friend.
