Friday's Fillings:
Posted in Daily Life
Yesterday morning, as I was making sourdough for last night’s pizza,
the younger children were sitting in the reading room
playing a game of marbles together…
Ally had woke up with a fever and wasn’t feeling very well,
so she stayed in bed resting for quite some time…
Later in the day, Will and the girls were playing with our plush nativity set
and playing out the nativity story as Will read it from his Bible.
It blessed my heart to see how he was so excited
when he thought of doing that
and was so excited to teach his sisters the story, again …
I mentioned what the Lord laid on Will’s heart.
It was such a blessing to see our son’s interest in spiritual things…
to see his heart afire for godly things.
I praise the Lord when he allows me to see
glimpses into my children’s hearts.
What a blessing it is to see that fruit of our labor.
And I praise Him that He taught me some time ago
that we can do all the training we can (and ought to be doing)
but it is through prayer… daily fervent prayer …
for our children that makes all the difference.
Training them, teaching them, guiding them, etc…
are wonderful things to do…
It is our responsibility (and joy).
However, it is the Lord that changes the hearts of men (children).
What a thrill it is to see when the Lord is answering those quiet prayers!
What a joy and blessing it is to see the hearts of my children
as they love and seek the Lord in their childlike faith and simplicity.
What great lessons I have to learn from them.
It was a blessing to see them playing together so well.
As I was rolling out our sourdough pizza,
Beth and Will played a game of Memory…
Then Beth and Carolynne played a game of it, too…
Ally rested on the couch, reading through a medical book…
She loves to read books like that!
Have I said, lately, what a joy my children are to me?
They truly are.
“…to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.”
~ Psalm 113:9

I just read about Will's prayer and it was so very sweet. It's wonderful to see the Lord work in the lives of our children.
And Aggravation is my all time favorite board game. Some friend's of ours have a board that his grandfather made for them and we have a ball playing it when we visit with them.

HI there. Glad to see you are all staying busy. I"d like to stop by for a game myself! Tell Ally we are sorry she is sick and pray she gets well soon. Hey, guess what? Bruester's will be reopening under new management, lucky for us, huh?
Done any sewing lately? We sure enjoyed the Abbott evangelist family that spoke last week. They have 4 very talented musician children. Mostly violin. Now I am inspired to take up the violin, only, I don't have the instrument to use! Lovely instument!
Praying for you all, Love the Lord, Lisa
