I just love stories of WWII.
Not that they are fun to read but, wow,
they are full of stories of men with great courage,
honor, sacrifice and faith.
Ally (12) and I have been reading about Iwo Jima
the past two weeks.
We finished our book yesterday... and it was wonderful timing...
because I also received my box from Vision Forum.
In it was their DVD that I ordered called
"A League of Grateful Sons".
It is a documentary type movie that focuses on Iwo Jima and
the people who were involved,
how it affected their children, grandchildren, etc...
It had wonderful stories and testimonies.
Our eyes were not dry and we had
an increased sense of pride, honor, and appreciation
for our country and the men that gave their all for our freedom.
And I have an even greater conviction and motivation
to pass on to my children a love for their God,
their forefathers, and their country.
It was a truly wonderful documentary.
Lord, may I never cease to remind my children
of your providence and many wonderful blessings.
May we never forget that freedom is not free.
