Oh, how I love beautiful weather!
I just can't stay indoors when it's around.
Today was one of those days...
just way too beautiful to be indoors.
I decided that it was a perfect day
to explore God's creation,
so we grabbed the camera and headed to The Sands
(a local area sitting on the shores of a channel
that is directly connected to the Atlantic).
We met some homeschooled friends there.
It was wonderful
and the children had such a great time.
Below are some photos:
We arrived, began getting out of the van
and noticed that someone was too tired to participate...

so we left her in her seat and let her finish her nap
(we parked on the sand,
so I was right there with her *Ü* )
Our friends showed up with fries in hand
and Ally's friend, Justin,
decided to feed the birds that were hovering around.
They flock to the food!!
They weren't more than 3 feet in front of our faces...

Look at this first bird photo carefully
and in the left corner you can see
the airborne fry they were flying after!

Here are Ally and Justin...

Still feeding the birds

and then looking for shells and shark teeth.
Here are the shark teeth that they were able to find...

There were a few other people at The Sands
that were telling them how to determine
whether or not they were shark teeth.
How interesting was that?!

Will and his friend, Jenna looking for shark teeth

and Will still looking alone.

Beth and her friend, Joy picking up oyster shells

and her standing on a rock.
Here is what they had to look through
to find the shark teeth....

Here are the different views of the river channel....

Before heading home,
we had to stop and take a picture of our favorite sign!!
It's a real one and it cracks us up everytime we see it...

All in all, it was a great day...
I love those days
of gaining a deeper appreciation and fascination
for God's creation and those days of natural learning...
to me, those are the best homeschool days!
