Sharing Our Saturday at the Park...

Posted in Family Fun

This weekend, the children and I met some friends
at a local park to play.
I just thought I’d share a few photos.

The children had so much fun!
Beth and Carolynne loved the big dinosaur
that they could ride together…

Will and his friend rode in the big plane…

The older ones enjoyed fellowshipping by the water…

We also enjoyed our lunch at the park…

After playing a little while longer,
Carolynne and Beth wanted a snack…

Notice the banana in their hands?

After their snack, we took the younger ones near the water…

They were very excited to see a patch of rainbow reflecting in the water…
We looked up in the sky and there it was…

We also saw an egret wading through the water…

We soon returned closer to the playground
and after more time of playing,
the younger ones sat down to enjoy
a final snack before we left…

The older ones enjoyed theirs by the water…

It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
We enjoyed the beautiful weather the Lord provided
and the peeks of His Creation we were able to see.

Video of Today's Project with Dad...

Posted in Family Fun

As I mentioned in my previous post,

as I was putting the girls to bed,

the men were downstairs finishing the robot.

Here is a video of Will and the robot…

(the robot is motorized, by the way)

Thursday's Things... Enjoying Daddy and More...

Posted in Family Fun

This afternoon, we received another package from my mother

that hadn’t showed up before Christmas.

So when Daddy arrived home, we opened it up.

After supper, Dad and the children enjoyed one of those gifts together.

Dad, Will, and Beth sat at the table, working together

to build a ‘robot’ of some sort.

It was precious to see them working together…

While they worked on the robot, Ally worked on the dishes…

At first, Carolynne sat at the table with the others,

looking at all of the pieces.

Then she was in the kitchen playing with magnets.

Finally, she decided to sit in the living room

with Mommy (who was making a menu)

and play with the plush Nativity toys…

I enjoyed listening to her as she played.

She was having the angel sing “Silent Night”

and it was so precious to hear her singing.

After a while, I checked back in with the others

to see how the robot was coming…

As I put the lil’ girls to bed,

Dad and Will finished up the final process

And when I came back downstairs, they were done…

What a blessing it was to see the children

spending time like that with their daddy!

We sure will miss him when he leaves

But will continue to enjoy the precious days we have left.

“…to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children…” ~ Luke 1:17

Our Encounter with a Furry Friend...

Posted in Family Fun

In my previous post I mentioned how we met a 'new friend'

during our 'photo session' at the pier.

As we were wrapping things up and getting back into the van

we noticed something walking by... a raccoon.

We were all very excited to see one so close up.

Ally grabbed the camera and started following it...

Ally was thrilled that it let her get so close...

It kept looking up, right at Ally.

The children and I watched from the van for a bit

and then we all got out to join Ally in the fun.

After its drink, it headed toward the marsh...

The children and I watched it as it travelled through the marsh grass...

We enjoyed watching it until it was out of our eye view.

We were a little surprised how it didn't seem to be afraid of us,

but we still kept a pretty safe distance.

It was fascinating to us to see one so close up

and to follow it, seeing what it would do.

It was a wonderful closure to our trip yesterday!

We were very thankful to have the opportunity

to observe such a creature!

A Butterfly for Supper??

Posted in Family Fun

Yesterday evening, Ally found a butterfly laying on the ground

so she picked it up and brought into the house to show me.

Everyone was fascinated with the beautiful creature...

We recognized the type of butterfly it was

from a few that we saw at a trip to Burger King last month.

More info on the butterfly is at

Our Nature Study Lesson from Burger King post.

We had fun examining it up close...

We invited "Flit" to stay for supper...

Then we let it go back outside.

It was a lovely addition to our supper table

and I'm sure the children will always remember

the evening we had a butterfly join us for supper.

Our Saturday Afternoon at the Church Fellowship...

Posted in Family Fun

In my previous post, I mentioned that we attended a church fellowship.

It was held at a church member's house

that had a lot of land, a small farm, a pond, and more.

The children really enjoyed themselves.

When we first arrived, the lil' girls were excited

to get a ride on the golf cart...

They were also excited to see the pond...

Beth had to help Carolynne up the hill...

They were really excited when Daddy took them out in the boat...

All the girls enjoyed the swing...

Ally had fun on the hayride with some of the ladies from the church...

Then the children and I went...

We also took some time to eat lunch...

Dad spent time fellowshipping with the other men

and lots of time with Will.

He prepared their fishing poles to fish in the pond...

After dusk, the stood at the pond and fished...

Will also enjoyed the tire swing before we left...

I took the lil' girls to see the goats, horses, and other animals...

It blessed my heart to see Dad and Will

spending such quality time together.

It also blessed my heart to see Ally

fellowshipping with the adult ladies of the church

and having a servant's heart by helping where help was needed.

It was a very enjoyable time of sweet fellowship.

Computers, Cleaning, Cooking, Croquet, and More...

Posted in Family Fun

Yesterday the children and I went to a friends house

to help her continue tweaking her blog

and to play and have fellowship. We had a great time.

Before we left,

they gathered together for a family picture to add to their blog.

I think it turned out wonderfully.

Be sure to check it out.

While I was off with the children,

my beloved stayed home a scrubbed the floor in our walk-in closet,

our garden tub in our master bathroom, and other things.

Isn't he such a sweetie??

It was wonderful to come home to see

our bathroom, closet, and more looking so wonderfully clean.

What a blessing it was!

In the evening, we decided to go out for supper.

We all decided on Chinese food and enjoyed a delicious meal.

This morning, after coffee and quiet time with my beloved,

I caught the girls playing with their daddy...

Will was in our sitting room playing RISK.

He is quite fascinated with that game.

He sat in there playing it when hubby and I

were sitting on our floor reading our Bible.

I think he sat there playing that game for over two hours!

Someone wasn't up yet, even with all of the commotion going on...

For breakfast I made some fried egg sandwiches

and we had to toast the bread in the oven

(since our toaster is packed).

Not our usual way of toasting bread, but it worked.

Ally got a good laugh and a good lesson on being resourceful.

After breakfast, the children were eager

to play the croquet set we picked up.

They went outside to set it up...

When they were ready, Dad came out to play with them...

While everyone else played croquet with Dad,

Ally and I read more in our "Maidens of Virtue".

Carolynne joined us, too.

The wind was too strong for her

so she wanted to sit and watch the others play...

Later this afternoon, we attended a church gathering.

It was a fun time of fellowship. I may try to post some photos tomorrow.

I hope y'all enjoyed your Saturday.

Good night for now.

An Evening in Front of the Fireplace...

Posted in Family Fun

Most of the day, the weather was gorgeous.

Just the right temp and a beautiful breeze.

Towards dusk, however, the air became quite a bit chilly.

So while Ally and I made supper, my husband and our son

decided to build a fire in the fireplace...

Will was so excited to help his daddy.

He was thrilled to exercise his muscles

in helping to bring in the logs...

They were both proud of their work together

(as was I)...

The lil' girls enjoyed it, too...

After supper, we all sat in the den,

in front of the fireplace, to read aloud.

My husband started reading aloud

"The Little Preacher" by Elizabeth Prentiss.

We all listened and ate popcorn as he read aloud the first chapter.

Afterwards, Dad threw a few unpopped popcorn kernels in the fire,

so the children could watch them pop...

It was an evening that warmed our hearts and home.

Delighting in Dough...

Posted in Family Fun

Yesterday afternoon, the children and I

decided to make some play dough.

They were very excited about helping to make it.

We gathered in the corner of the kitchen

and each added a specific ingredient...

Will had the job of adding the flour...

He took it upon himself to level it off, too...

Carolynne had the job of pouring in the coloring...

And Beth had the job of pouring in the salt...

The girls took turns stirring it before I added the liquid ingredients...

And Will and Ally helped stir after we added the liquids...

And viola! We had dough...

(Delightful Dough Recipe here)

We put a tablecloth on the dining room table

and the children eagerly sat down to play...

I gave them some of our cookie cutters to make various shapes...

I helped Carolynne with her ducky and then she was ready to try...

Here she is trying to make one herself

by stuffing the cookie cutter with dough...

Here I helped Beth make a heart...

She quickly caught on and started making her own.

Here she is with a foot...

Will had no problems getting started...

Here he is with his foot...

They had lots of fun and spent quite some time

sitting at the table making more shapes.

It made me wonder... Why hadn't I done this before?

All Work and No Play??? No Way!...

Posted in Family Fun

After a long day of working in the house,

we were all eager to get outdoors after supper.

The girls enjoyed playing in the back of the trailer...

Will and Ally played a little baseball...

Dad thought it looked like fun, too...

While Dad and Will played baseball,

Ally and Carolynne played ball together...

Soon it was bath and bedtime.

But we had an enjoyable time outdoors.

It was nice to get a small, refreshing break from the boxes. *Ü*

And it always blesses my heart to see my family

playing sweetly together and nurturing their relationships.
