Starting off Fun!

Noted in... Education Estate

I started school last week, and 'fell in love' with my courses!

My Chemistry is a blast and I've learned so many things

and have done 3 weeks worth in one week!

In fact, I've already done a few experiments...

... I was getting familiar with the metric system and converting units.

In that particular experiment,

I was finding the amount of density and mass in different liquids.

This was today, and I was calibrating my metric thermometer.

I was going to wait until the water boiled (at 100.0 C),

but I got tired after an hour and a half and quit at 45 degrees Celsius.

While doing so, I read about measuring heat, Kelvin,

tThe calorie unit, and specific heats of common substances!

I had a blast!

I also found it funny on my mom's recent post,

she posted about energy, and I related the terms to chemistry.

'The kids were so full of potential energy, that when mom

lit a fire in them to run around the house, their energy changed form to Kenetic.'

(1st Law if Thermodynamics, of course!)

Also, my Greek is going SOOOO great!

Using Rosetta Stone, they're definately giving me more practice in reading Greek!

They don't say or write a word in English.

The sentence in the picture above was

To mple autokinhto einai kainourlio.

Which means, the blue car is new.

(pronounced 'two bleh  aufsto-keen-ee-toe   ee-nah   kennel-yo)

I must say, though, my most difficult sentence was

H hlikiwmenh gunaika ecei aspro mallia.

(E eel-ih-que-many   ye-necka   ee-ah   ahs-pra  ma-ya)

Mostly because when you say it, it needs to be sorta slurred.

Anyway, now I like going around the house and

putting sentences together in Greek.

It's so fun!

I also have a 'Curriculum Text' where the entire book is in Greek.

So fun to read!

I'm having such a blast in the school year so far!

Remarks...

"Let no man despise thy youth;
but be thou an example
of the believers,
in word, in conversation,
in charity, in spirit,
in faith, in purity."
~ I Timothy 4:12

I am a Christ-loving maiden of 14 years, surrendered to the will of my King to be a missionary's wife. I'm currently at a "9th grade" education level. I have been homeschooled for 8 years. My dad (and knight in shining armour) is a Marine in the United States Marine Corps. My mother is a seasoned maiden who spends her time in the castle teaching and training her maidens and knight-to-be. I am the oldest of four children. I have a knight-to-be, brother (8) and two wee maidens (4 and 3). This is where I will share my thoughts, my accomplishments, events in my homeschooling days, what the Lord is teaching me, and more.
