This song wasn’t found out of a hymn book,
but rather a song from some of my favorite singers…
The Pensacola Christian College Rejoice Singers.
In my last post, those were 3 new cds I ordered from them!
I like the way they harmonize and I recommend them to
those looking for good Christian music.
Here is my favorite song from their album "Real Peace".
Hide Me Behind The Cross
Lord as I seek to serve You,
May You find in me what’s pleasing to Your heart.
I leave my will at Calvary
Taking on a nature humbled by Your scars.
For I know it’s only through Your love
That who I am is hidden by Your grace.
Let my desires be overshadowed
As I recall the purpose of that place.
(chorus sung twice)
Hide me behind the cross,
Where my gains become as loss
And only Your glory is in view.
Your power will be revealed
The more that I am concealed.
Hide me behind the cross
So the world sees only You.
Short but to the point!
This is what is on my new years goals and is in my prayer journal.
This is such a wonderful song of humility!
Our purpose is not in showing ourselves off,
or trying to seem ‘spiritual’…
It’s in serving the Lord, and letting the world see Him through us.
It’s a great song to sing whenever I get ‘puffed up’
or when I just want to tell it to my Jesus that I
want to be hidden behind the cross so the world sees only Him.
