All Day For One Task... My First Dress!!!

Noted in... Leisure of a Lady
Today was a day unlike most.
I got up around 10, ate breakfast, and decided to sew.
Yesterday I cut out my fabric for a dress pattern we ordered a while ago…

I literally started sewing at 11 and just stopped hardly 15 minutes ago! (8:30 pm)

Mom joined me all day to make 2 more t-shirt dresses for the children
and started on the same pattern for a dress of her own.

This was my very first dress I made on my own… which can be tedious work…

But, after literally all day, I was glad to finally finish my sewing project!

I was determined to get it done today so I could wear it to church tomorrow,
and I’m glad to be finished.
Mom and I were teasing throughout sewing, “Shall we gather…”;
sometimes replacing ‘river’ with ‘bodice’.
Well, I thought I’d share my new dress.
I plan to make more of the same pattern.
It’s from Common Sense Patterns and pattern number 416E – ‘Women’s Square Neck Dress’.

Enjoy the beginning of a new week!
(I’ll be on vacation!!!!)

Ally, you did a FANTASTIC job on your dress. I love it. I'm glad you were able to finish it before church tomorrow. And I love the "Shall we gather..." That's cute.

Beautiful dress! You did a great job! That's one of my favorite patterns - I've already used it 4 different times. I really like how you added the contrasting fabric to the bottom of the dress as well - so pretty.

Ally, your dress came out beautiful. You did a great job. I know some parts of the sewing process are tedious, but the more you sew, the faster you get at it. ;0) Thanks for sharing the pattern name and number, I wrote it down for Kayla and I. I really liked seeing the contrasting fabric on the bottom as well. I hope you enjoyed wearing it for church, you deserved it after persevering to get it done.
Blessings

Hello Ally,

Sorry I havn't got in touch with you. We are getting ready for bed. My dad's back is hurting to mom is putting the heating pad on him. How are you feeling? Hope you are feeling better. I think your mom has Abigail Miller on her blog(???), we have several cd's of her singing. She has a good voice. Your Hyacinth plant looks neat. I LOVE your dress!!! You did a good job! I like that style. Square neck dresses don't look all that great on me... I don't know why, I think I just feel like I'm 'imodest' (uncomfortable)or something!!?!!
Where did you order you dress at? (If you don't mind telling me)!

Your Sister in Christ,
Brittany R. W.

but be thou an example

in charity, in spirit,

~ I Timothy 4:12

I am a Christ-loving maiden of 14 years, surrendered to the will of my King to be a missionary's wife. I'm currently at a "9th grade" education level. I have been homeschooled for 8 years. My dad (and knight in shining armour) is a Marine in the United States Marine Corps. My mother is a seasoned maiden who spends her time in the castle teaching and training her maidens and knight-to-be. I am the oldest of four children. I have a knight-to-be, brother (8) and two wee maidens (4 and 3). This is where I will share my thoughts, my accomplishments, events in my homeschooling days, what the Lord is teaching me, and more.
