But  not moving quite so quickly.  It took us 3 days to read Prince Caspian, mostly because Wednesday is a big day out, and we had some, uh... behavioral problems that necessitated drastic action - no reading for a while.  But we had another marathon day today and finished the book right at bedtime, having read the last 2 chapters snuggled up together.

What a treat and privilege it is to read great books to our children!  I had never read these books before so they are as exciting to me as they are to my kids.  In a couple of years I hope to read them again - this time with the kids reading to me, perhaps, or all of us taking turns - and studying them with the Further Up and Further In unit study book.

We'll be starting The Voyage of the Dawn Treader tomorrow.  I know it will be requested first thing, but E has her art class in the morning and then I think we need a Costco run, so it'll probably have to wait till after lunch.  With a church service tomorrow night, our time will be limited.

I have a feeling it's going to be a reading weekend.

We just started Prince Caspian. It is much more fun than Horse and His Boy--easier to read, too!

Prince Caspian is my absolute favorite Narnia book. I relate so much to Puddleglum.

You have never read these? Amazing! But that's the wonderful thing about homeschooling, isn't it. I love having an excuse to read these again and again.

It does seem odd that I had never read them. Never even heard of them till I had a child. I was a nose-in-a-book kid and read everything I could find but seem to have never come across these. Wonder if they weren't popular during those years of my life and then sort of came back.
