equals a dinner dilemma for mom. We had canned green beans last night; can't have them again. We ran out of frozen broccoli. (Next time I'm in Costco I'm buyin' the big bag!) Corn is not a veggie. I had some spinach but it, um...

How do once a month shopper do it? Hey, how do once a week shoppers do it?

I've been there. But now I menu plan it has really cut down on nights like that. I only go shopping every 2 weeks so the menu helps.

I have to go shopping a couple times a week. At least for veggies and milk and stuff like that. I don't know how they do it either. (Once a month cooking) I looked into it a little bit but dh said "no way." He feels taken care of when I cook.

What I forgot to mention about my dilemma is - this was a planned grocery day. (Among other out-of-the-house plans... :-/ ) But we didn't get out of the house.

I just don't like using canned/frozen veggies all the time, even when there's not a lot in season here.

I did find half a red pepper and an acceptable carrot. Of course onions are veggies but tbey don't really count (even though we eat a lot of them.) Maybe I'll post the recipe for black bean burritos sometime.

I tried to be a once a month shopper with bulk shopping, but I didn't have room for all those big boxes, though it did cut down on trips to the store. I tried to be a once a week shopper using a menu, but I would inevitably forget the key ingredient to at least two meals per week not to mention the all important snacks. I have almost resigned myself to the fact that on days that we are upright and breathing we will almost assuredly need to go to Walmart.
