Chocolate Cows

Butterfly:  "Mommy, do cows give chocolate milk too?"

(Mommy pauses while chuckling; Butterfly senses she's said something funny)

Mommy:  "Only the brown ones dear."

(Note: I did give her a real answer afterward).

Eeyore's Pet Cow

Butterfly got this really girly stuffed dog for her birthday; it came with a carrier, a fancy outfit, a leash, & a brush:

Does she brush its hair? No. Take it for walks? No. Carry it around in its carrier? Nope.

It was Eeyore's pet "cow"!

Babies In Bumbos

"Baby" in Bumbo???

Our "Jertain in the Curtain"...

Or, perhaps, our "Knox in Box"?

Courtesy of Butterfly; very clever!

And thank you Little Guy; too cute...

Which One, Or Not?!

Okay, which one is not a stuffed animal?

Just kidding... but he is very cuddly.

Happy 10th Birthday Storyman!

Say goodbye to single digits forever... Storyman is the big 1 - 0!

Seems like it was just yesterday...

...that he was just a little "Storybaby" all of 1 week old!

By the time he was 8 weeks old, he looked like he wanted to start telling stories!

Actually he was in the middle of a yawn...

One year old

And here he is with a new drawing he did yesterday:

Photobucket

The picture is about a boy who has a monkey as a pet & the monkey wrecked his room. I told him if I was the mom the monkey would be in a zoo where he belongs!

Today he's opened his presents & is happy:

See a theme here? Piratey type stuff... he also got some books & a new "Illustory" make a book kit.

Happy, happy, happy 10th birthday to my Storyman. I love you!

... & keep those stories coming!

Storyman's 10th Birthday Party

We had a little gathering for Storyman's big 10 ... he really enjoyed himself.

There was cake & singing...

A pinata (the safe, indoor friendly, pull string kind):

He chose a "horse" theme. We don't own horses, or even ride them, but we like them.

Hubby knew which was the string, so he held them off that one for a while for more suspense this time.

Little Guy has a string fetish right now, but we couldn't get him to pull one. He did have some fun playing with them as they hit the ground though...

Then came the great rush for treats!

Butterfly got a piece of candy (a very rare treat) so she was happy:

(She just wanted me to get that wrapper off for her).

My uncle tried to teach Ladybug II how to walk...

I wonder what she's thinking here...

She's not walking yet.

They played a lot, & Storyman opened presents. Butterfly was his "assistant", handing him each present to open.

As usual, Little Guy wanted "in" on the photo action. He was ready & jumping right in front of the camera for multiple shots...

Here Little Guy was still getting into the shots, Storyman was reading a card, & Big Guy was acting like a "little guy" sitting on Grandpa's lap!

Yep; there's Little Guy swiping camera time again... with Storyman looking on not too happily. I think he's thinking "Whose show is this anyway?"!

What is this? A "Little Guy free" present opening photo?? Where'd he go?? (Cool octopus shirt by the way).

He's been "snatched" by Uncle Tony!

Oh, what did Storyman get? He got some nice clothes for Spring, a badminton set, a new game, two put together sets to make an airplane & a ferris wheel, & a pump up airplane. He had one of the latter that he used to love playing with outside, but it broke. So now he has a new one.

And he wasn't too happy about that, was he??

Little Guy & Ladybugs

Little Guy has been interested in the Ladybugs using his old toys such as the Exersaucer & Jumperoo. He made himself comfy underneath while Ladybug II was playing in the Jumperoo.

I almost thought he was going to go to sleep, right there on the floor (he's done that before) but then he saw the camera...

The Ladybugs were all curled up checking out each other's faces. This is a hazard with twins in the same crib since they like to poke at eyes & pull on ears (which is what was happening here).

Then they too, noticed the camera...

New Entries, A Lion Face, & An Interesting Pillow

Storyman has a few new entries on his blog, taken right from history (sort of). He really enjoys history & uses what he learns to make up his own unique stories. You can check them out here.

Butterfly had a new project this week that was cute. I had mentioned her being "scissor challenged" so I give her some very simple projects to practice on from an Abeka K4 art book I had around from years ago. It has been ideal; just what she needed for practice & she feels good about the things she's making because she does it all herself.

Her latest is this cute lion face (hanging up on the fridge behind her):

(We were both having a bad hair day, but at least on her it's still cute...).

The lion called for yellow cotton balls; does such a thing exist? Well, I didn't go looking for them! I didn't feel like messing with paints so she just colored them a bit with a yellow marker.

This picture is from last month but I kept forgetting to blog it. Ladybug II found an "interesting" pillow while they napped together...

Ladybug I didn't seem to mind.

Sweet Interactions

Big Guy started "interacting" with little Ladybug II the other morning... he just makes a sort of "happy noise" I call it & gets closer, almost face to face... it was very sweet.

Photo Shoot

We had a few portraits done recently. I wanted to take Butterfly for her yearly birthday photo. I figure we don't do "school portraits" so this is our yearly tradition of sorts. The Ladybugs had never had their portrait done formally, so I had wanted to do that as well. Then Big Guy never had a picture taken for his 13th birthday back in Sept, being the babies were small & I just never got out for that. I had taken Little Guy's at home for his last summer, since he has an aversion to studio cameras these days.

Anyway, the photo shoot went very well. We went back to Sears. I had a bad experience with them in December when I went to get the Ladybugs picture taken, but this time I asked questions before scheduling & got a great person for the job. She was even great with Big Guy. You have to be lightening quick to capture his great smile!

His birthday picture, well, 13 & 1/2 years old now!

Butterfly really wanted to pose with her number 6:

It was cute, but I chose this one for our wall portrait:

The Ladybugs gave me some great choices!

Our little Ladybug II stayed serious the entire time, so we couldn't capture her sweet smile, but she looks cute anyway!

But Ladybug I was really into mommy's silly noises - they worked for her!

They do some nice special effects like this sepia with the pink edging:

I chose this pose for the wall, but for the finished product they brought it up closer, put pink edging around it & their names & age:

There were so many nice ones I had a collage done to include others. I wish I could have taken everything right home. You do have the choice of taking some home but it's an extra $3 per sheet, so I decided to wait the 2 weeks for everything. Thank you Lord, for great pictures of our sweeties!

Not to leave them out, but Storyman will be having his birthday photo taken soon. However, I got this really nice one of both Storyman & Little Guy here at home together:

Storyman is Back!

After a long blogging hiatus, Storyman has posted a new entry on his blog. He hopes to be a more consistent blogger. So hop on over to Storyman's blog to see why he got that nickname!

Play, Poncho, & Cat In A Box

The babies with a new toy (& one big one they already had!):

Butterfly really liked these "pop & squeak" eggs I got for Little Guy from CBD..

Ladybug II really liked them too:

Clarabel really liked the box:

A couple of days later I had Butterfly show her new poncho I bought from Bundled in Prayer for some pics. It's SO pretty!

The poncho was on wrong (which I realized later) but I liked this picture with the Ladybugs there too:

Then Little Guy jumped in front of the camera to be included too (bracing himself for the flash)!

He really wanted his picture taken! (wish he had been like that for the holiday pic!)

Butterfly had been getting annoyed & left. After all, this was supposed to be her photo session! So I fixed her poncho & took her picture alone (she's still looking a tad miffed):

She eventually got over it.

Happy 6th Birthday Butterfly!

My little Butterfly turns 6 years old today! Time flies by too fast ...

Her birth picture

Her first summer

Her first birthday

A few more years fly by...

She LOVES stuffed animals. So guess what she got today?? (they came in their own little "doggy house")

And more... she's been playing with them all day.

Which is good because we had the biggest snowstorm of the year so far today!

She loves her chocolate cake (gluten & dairy free of course!)

Happy 6th birthday "baby" girl! I love you!

Big Brother

Getting Ready...

Ladybug I is getting ready to crawl. Here is she is up on her knees, tiny little baby that she is!

I got this little outfit for each of them for Valentine's Day (or whenever of course)... it was cute with the Ladybugs on them...

They are personalized with their names, hence the burpie pad on top of it. I got them at My Miracle Baby. They have some cute things & are generally reasonably priced.

Butterfly's Plans

Last night at dinner Butterfly shared her plans for her life with us, &, um, her plans for me....

Apparently she is going to have twin babies, a boy & a girl, & name them Benjamin & Sara. She said her "room" when she "grows up" will be pink & purple (wonder how her future hubby will feel about that one...).

I told her when she has her babies I will come & help her, & that I promised to be a help & not a hindrance.  I said I will make her a cup of tea so she can put her feet up & rest. I will do her laundry, cook their meals, & clean their home if they would like that.

Apparently, she would really like that; all of that! She had other plans as well...

When I then told her the Ladybugs could come with me & help her out, she said they could help me with the housework. According to Butterfly, Ladybug II is to mop the floor, & Ladybug I should dust.

She said Storyman could help out too, by painting the babies room. Big Guy should throw out the garbage (yeah, as soon as I get him to do that here!). Then Little Guy (who won't be so little by then I'm sure), should mow the lawn (I sure hope he'll be able).

Her daddy has a job as well. He should come over & cook their breakfast. (He makes nice egg breakfasts). Butterfly doesn't even eat eggs... she did say he could also barbeque for them.

She said I could clean her house, cook their meals, do their laundry, & get the babies ready to go out when they need to go somewhere. She said I could also change their diapers.

My husband then asked "What are you doing to do Butterfly?"

She didn't answer.

Today she says she will be nursing her babies. Sounds good to me; I do hope I can help make things easier for her someday!

A Trading Post & A Toy Built For Two

Storyman set up a "trading post" with these toys. Looks great!

A toy big enough for two!

The little pink cheeks on Ladybug II was a vitamin C intolerance, which has since cleared up.

Happy 6 Month Birthday, My Ladybugs!

Today my Ladybugs are 6 months old...

Happy 1/2 birthday, my beautiful babies...

And thank you again Lord...
