Dayspring and American Greeting card will replace Hallmark for me
|
Did you hear that Hallmark now has gay marriage cards "featuring two tuxedos, overlapping hearts or intertwined flowers, with best wishes inside. "Two hearts. One promise,"
"It's our goal to be as relevant as possible to as many people as we can," Hallmark spokeswoman Sarah Gronberg Kolell said. I'm sure they never thought of the money they could make in California and Massachusetts. The thing is, did they think about the money they will lose from people like me that will not by Hallmark cards anymore. I am really sad about this. No more McDonalds or Hallmark cards for me.
Apparently, American Greeting feels their selection is adequate and says they have no plans to include same-sex marriage cards. I know that Dayspring won't stoop to it.

If you google it you'll find that DaySpring was acquired by Hallmark in 1999. There went my plan of using them too! I guess I'll resort to having my kids draw homemade cards or making my own on the computer. I found your blog when trying to find out who sells cards that aren't supporting this. Also...no more Ford vehicles!!! They are one of the worst supporters...I couldn't look at their advertisements as revealed American Family Association because they were that graphic!

My son went to college in the town where Dayspring is. He told me that Dayspring was part of Hallmark, now. I do think they run their own show, though. I'll have to think about that one. I want to be able to buy Christian cards, not just neutral cards.
Making them might be the key.

DaySpring is in Siloam Springs Arkansas. I live here. DaySpring was started by Christians, bought by Hallmark. I will no longer purchace cards or anything that is sold by Hallmark no matter what the name. They may run their own "show", but they still send a percentage to Hallmark. They have tarnished DaySpring. Small business in Siloam are discontinuing the sell of DaySpring products. Sad. Please Pray for them.

Anonymous, I will pray for Dayspring. I will hate to forgo their yearly warehouse sale that I attend around Thanksgiving. I know people that work for Dayspring. I'm sure they are disgusted. When someone sells a company, no matter why it was started, they lose control over it.

Hi! I have done some writing for dayspring, and have had the company president over for dinner. We talked about this subject and he said that Hallmark trusts them to reach their audience and does not interfere in what they produce. The people I have encountered at Dayspring stand for the same things we do. They want to bless others thru scripture and sharing God's heart. I think it would be a shame to boycott them.

Heather, I am not boycotting Dayspring. Just to let you know. My son went to college Siloam Springs and I would hate to take away jobs from those college students.
