A Homeschooling Grandma: I Must be Crazy!
Jan. 10, 2009
Screaming my guts out at a 2nd grade basketball game!
I'm glad I don't have a picture of me!  LOL!  Today was my grandson's first game with the Upwards program at our church.  It was as fun as watching high school ball.  In the young ages, they don't call walking/traveling and they don't keep score (You know the parents do!).  It's like sandlot baseball.  Everybody plays. Builds confidence. Sometimes they headed to the wrong goal, sometimes they ran the length with out dribbling at all.  It was a hoot!  I haven't had so much fun in a while.  If you have kids K-6, and you want them to play non-competitive sports, check out Upwards Basketball.  It is held in Baptist churches, but open to anyone.  It's great for homeschoolers that want to stay out of that competitive craziness.  Go to the link and find a league in your area.
