I finished Drivers Ed in August. It's almost October and I haven't got a learners permit yet. We planned to go several times and never went and then today, we actually went, got in the door, stood in line, got up to the counter- and went home. Because apparently they don't accept the ID's that they give you as proof of who you are. The MVA demands a birth certificate, a social security card, a DNA sample no more then a week old and your left thumb. In a airtight, sterile plastic container. So we're going to go again on Wednesday so that I can FINALLY begin the NINE MONTH wait to get a real drivers license. I have a theory. All the tests and Drivers Education and waiting in line and being asked how much you weight and getting a funny look when you tell them- that's the real test. If you actually get in the car with a stoic old man to go through the obstacle course, you've already proven that you can survive in the rat race that is I95 (and adulthood) without screaming and threatening someone with a broken pencil. That's what they really want to know. And it's probably really character building. Or mind numbing. Whichever.
With relative freedom being only nine months and a bit away I've been thinking about my immediate future a bit more. If my calculations are correct I should finish highschool around the same time that I get my drivers license and then I'll be able to get a real job. I'm not sure exactly what that job will be and I'm not sure how many classes -if any- I'll be taking at the community college right away. Who knows, I might take one this spring...that would actually be pretty cool, come to think of it. When I took my English placement test over there, I'm pretty sure I scored in the highest English class and if I remember correctly, if you pass that class you've finished your English requirements to get your AA degree. So that would be pretty awesome if that's the case.
I've always thought that once I got my drivers lisence I would become a full-time nanny and that's a very distinct possibility, but another possibility has cropped up. I just might try to get a job at Whole Foods. They start you out at $10 an hour and it has really great perks, like 20% off everything- and I shop there a lot. I LOVE that store.
It's just an idea, but those are some of the things rattling around my brain right now.

Wow! They need a DNA sample????? That's strange to me, I never had to give a DNA sample to get my Permit or my license! They almost sound paranoid if they need all of that! O,o

P.S. Oh, and I thought the "thumb" thing was a typo, like you meant to say somehting like "They needed a DNA sample from your left thumb in a plastic bag." haha, so I wasn't THAT gullible...right? lol!

You're so lucky. Driver's license. I get my permit in MAY. It's taking forever. A lifetime. Well no, not really. :) It seems like a lifetime, and besides, why can't I be 15 to get it?? I'll be 15 in like 2 months. It stinks.
So how's life? My life atm is very dull and tired. I can''t even keep my eyes open for very long and I'm pretty run down. i don't know what's wrong with me-I hope I'm not sick, sick...that'd be bad because I have too much to do!!!

Aww...poor you. :( lol So do you just have Chris Rice's CD's or something?
I'm actually feeling much better...I took a nice hot shower and just rested. idk how I'm going to end up tomorrow but I think I'm just missing out on a bunch of sleep. Ya know, getting up at 7 or 7:30, and going to be at like..10 or 11. Not good. Except last week I was doing fine and was going to bed at exactly 11 and getting up at exactly 7. Weird huh?
Actually I think I need to be taking vitamins...I don't like a lot of foods (fish, cooked green beans, cooked carrots, every single veggie there is cooked, etc.) and so when we have them for dinner, I just don't eat them. So...that plus playing soccer and horseback riding (ya know, burning energy) isn't a good combination. Thanks for the suggestion though!
Well in Ohio it's 15 1/2...so in May I can. But I WANT to in November!! lol which is my birthday.
Gosh I can't believe it's been THIS long since we've talked. We should start e-mailing or something...or maybe just blog PMing and commenting will do for now. Remember how we used to call each other like a lot and talk for hours?? lol that was fun. :) i don't talk on the phone anymore cause I don't have anyone to talk to. I text my bff and we talk very rarely. :) annnyyywwaaayy...I'll quit boring you with my boring life. Have an awesome night!
