Nov. 13, 2009 School Composition
In my first year of the ninth grade (public school standards) I have learned more interesting things, some things that public school wouldn't even lay eyes on. So far this year a good deal of my school, history and literature, are based around the medieval time period. I do other subjects like math and writing, but reading is my favorite, so that is what this composition is going to be based around.
Reading is something I greatly enjoy doing and the medieval time period is a subject I enjoy learning about, so I really don't mind that part of my school. Right now for history I'm reading The Birth of Britain by Winston Churchill. It was hard to get into at first because it was slow and sort of hard to read, but it has gotten better. It started off telling about how the Romans tried to take over Britain, then about all the wars with the Picts, Saxons, and a hole bunch of other barberic tribes making a constant attack on the Britains and Romans. Eventually the Roman empire crumbled and they withdrew and then Britain was basically constantly attacked and eventually all the original Britains were all driven out and Anglo-Saxons took over and thus Britain was called England. There were a ton of wars and where I am now I am reading about a King that just took over from, I think, Scotland, his name is Canute.
For my literature(which I enjoy more than history) I am reading The Once and Future King T.H. White, Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott, Age of Chivalry by Thomas Bulfinch, Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain, and English Literature for Boys and Girls, and a little bit of Shakespeare. I am about half way through Ivanhoe and that is a pretty good book. I am in the second book in The Once and Future King, which is about King Arthur or at least T.H White's opinion on the mythical stories. So far that is the book I enjoy the most, then again I haven't started Connecticut Yankee yet. English Literature for Boys and Girls is the history of English literature that tells about all the historical literature and their origins. I also enjoy Age of Chivalry, that is about stories of Arthur's round table and their adventures.
I've enjoyed my school books so far and I would suggest reading at least a few of them. I think Ivanhoe is a good book to read, because it's a classic and mixes a little bit of history in with it. I hope I get to read good books like this every year. |

It is pretty big it has three bedrooms up stairs and a really big basement with four rooms, plus a really big backyard. We are still trying to move in but we have got the house in a good living state. It has hardwood floors through the living room and bedrooms, then the kitchen and basement are like ummmm....linoluem (not quiet sure I spelled that right). Yes....Well....I guess that's all......hey look a....bug...! |

| Yes, well I really don't have much to blog about so I'll just type up some random things. Well to start off my Dad and I had to push the car a couple of weekends ago. Yep! Ran out of gas and we had to push it over a hill. It was sort of fun in a weird way, because I've seen people do it before but never done it myself. Oh yes, I saw Wolverine Orgins in the theater like two months ago, that movie is better than the X-Men movies. The day before the fourth of july I saw Inkheart, that movie was awesome. Then on the fourth we went to my uncle's house to swim then went and saw the FIREWORKS!!!!!!!!! Well that basically sums up whats been going on, oh yah and we get to move into our very first house in like three weeks! : ) |

We also had a water ballon fight and then some splendid carrot cake. I got some sweet things for my B Day like the new Anberlin CD and an amp with 22 built in amps and 12 effects. Then later we went and saw Night at the Museum 2. It was a hilarius movie of awesomeness! Then the next day some friends from Seattle came down. I had a softball game that day to and went 4 for 4 with two doubles and a HOMERUN!!!! It was like the best birthday weekend EVER!!!!!!! |

| Well I am on a homeschool softball team, I know amazing, and today was our first game. I play third and today I was batting sixth. It was a good first game.....for us.....the score was, well I lost count in the third inning when it was 22 to 6 in our favour. I almost didn't want to play third because at practice I got barely any action. Well I got a lot of action, more than I wanted. Like a kid was rounding second, and when I say rounding I mean steam engine running, and slid into third. Well first of all I didn't even know if I tagged him because there was a huge cloud of dust after he slid, and he when he slid he did so into my left shin ,which hurt for a good time after the game, but they called him out and the inning was over. Not only was I amazing in the field : ) I also went 4 for 4 with five rbi's and I scored each time I was on. Yep, that was the most amazing thing you heard all week, huh! |

May. 2, 2009 Howling Wolf..... Part.....8
Branson looked out towards the prairie scattered with the dead, no not scattered, covered. Two hundred plus men died, the most men he had ever lost. Then again this was the first full fledged charge they had ever done. He scanned the prairie a lone figure was running towards the forest. Great Ford, Howling Wolf's brother, stepped up next to Branson.
"It's Antlers," he said turning to Branson," Get some of your men together, if we can not save my brother, then at least Antlers who is like a brother to me."
Branson nodded and turned to his lieutanat," Get a group of a dozen men on horses, armed," he looked towards Antlers, several men were chasing him on horses. Then Great Ford and a group of riders spurred their horses and galloped towards Antlers.
Howling Wolf put an arrow on the string and it whizzed into the chest of a big man not ten feet away. He saw men on horses ride after Antlers. He drew another arrow and fired at them, it missed and hit a horse. He heard the crack of guns and the indians with him fell, dead. He shot his bow again and it hit a man just before he fired his gun. He shot again, another man dead, he drew his last arrow and heaved a deep breath. He let it loose and another man took his last breath. There were still a dozen men and they started closing in on him. He looked at them with anger, yet he did not feel the same, he felt sorrow for them. Then an unseen blow came from behind and Howling Wolf fell, unconcious. |

I read this poem and thoght it was really funny.
Smart
My dad gave me one dollar bill
'Cause I'm his smartest son,
And I swapped it for two shiney quarters
'Cause two is more than one
And I took the quarters
And traded them to Lou
For three dimes - I guess he don't know
That three is more than one
Just then, along came old blind Bates
And just 'cause he can't see
He gave me four nickels for my three dimes
And four is more than three
And I took the nickels to Hiram Coombs
Down at the seed - feed store,
And the fool gave me five pennies for them,
And five is more than four
And then I went and showed my dad,
And he got red in the cheeks
And closed his eyes and shook his head -
Too proud of me to speak!

Apr. 1, 2009 Music, Music, Music.....I like Music
I have a thing for music. Yes, it is one of my favorite things. I play the guitar....as well as I can, and try to write songs. Anyway, I like tons of bands like Relient K, Anberlin, Hawk Nelson, The Almost, Underoath, Emery, and many many more. A couple years ago when I lived in California I went to a Relient K / Switchfoot concert it was AWSOME! I was also in a want to be band with just me and my friend that broke up when I moved. Now I'm super pumped because I think I might go to the Creation Fest/ Spirit Northwest. Well I guess that's it, tell me some of your favorite bands. |

Mar. 26, 2009 Howling Wolf Part Seven
Jonathan Branson looked at the little indian group turning the cannons towards his army. He held up his hand and his men stopped just out of the cannons range. His Colonel walked up to him, "What now sir?"
"Take them ,alive," hissed Jonathan then he walked away he had other buisness to attent to.
The Colonal gave a shrill whistle, fourty men broke rank and started towards the small group of indians.
Howling Wolf looked up,after pushing this last cannon into place, just in time to see a group of riders approaching.
"Prepare to fire the cannons," he ordered staring at the enemy. They would not make it out alive. He ran up to Antlers, "You need to go, make it to the tribe, I name you chief if I die, now run,"
"I can't abandone you," stuttered Antlers still shocked by his chiefs words.
"Go or the fate of the tribe will be the same as ours,"orderd Howling Wolf.
"I won't !"
"Go or I'll put an arrow in your leg and make you hobble back," said Howling Wolf "Now!"
Antlers grasped his chief's arms and nodded then started sprinting towards the forest. Howling Wolf looked towards the riders, they were now in range. Good thing Branson had taught his men the finer points on "modern" weapons.
"Fire the cannons," shouted Howling Wolf.
Three cannons roared, one first then the last two together. Howling Wolf looked towards the smoke and flying chunks of earth. Several more than a dozen men emerged out of the mess. Half a dozen on horses, if only he could get hold of a horse. He grabbed his bow and faced the oncoming enemy. |

Mar. 17, 2009 St. Particks Day
In case you didn't know today is St. Patricks Day! St. Patricks day is the best, mostly because I love cornbeef! It would seem that I was another one of those people who walk around and think that this day is about Irish people and pinching. Well I know it's not so everything is okay. Patrick was a pretty cool guy with a lot of boldness and bravery. Even though he was enslaved away from his family for years he went back to Ireland and preached God's word. I used to go to public school and never really knew about him until like four years ago. Like I thought he was Irish but he wasn't he was English. Well I guess that's it......oh man........I wish.......I was Irish......? |

Mar. 8, 2009 Trip and trip end
My family and I just went on a week long trip to California. It was interesting. We got up really early on a Sunday morning and started our twenty hour drive. Thankfully we had a portable DVD player, even though it was still uncomfortable sitting inbetween two car seats. The first day we drove out to our newly purchased land a few hours outside of Redding. We drove up a mountain and we thought we found our land but we're not sure. Then we made a drive to Redding that took longer than expected because of snow in the mountains. By the time we got to Redding it was about sevenish and we were all starving. We ate at a little mexican resteraunt that had just opened a week ago. By the time we got to the hotel I was so tired I thought I was going to pass out. The next day was just a long car drive and we reached our destination at like four. First thing we did was go to my Grandma's house, but the only one there was my uncle so we said hi then went to our friends house. The Wahls, we said hi and Monica Wahl decided we were to have a party the next night at their house. The next day we went to the beach, but it was raining so we went out to lunch. Nothing really happened until we went to the Wahl's for our party thing. I got to see some of my friends like the Barkers and the Delmore kid ,you know who you are, and some of the members of my Green Honda Civic Mofia. The next day my dad and I had to go pack up all of our stuff we left in storage. Thankfully we had help from the co. founder of the Green Honda Civiv Mofia and her husband. After that we went and got Panda Express and I got to hang out with my friend Jordan.
Then it was my brothers birthday, he turned five. Then the next day we left for Sacremento so my Mom could attent her stepmom's memorial service. The whole time we were at my Grandpa's was really akward. Before we left he told me I could borrow his Les Paul Epiphone guitar unil I saved up $850 for a Gibson Explorer.
Nothing else really happened and we got home and unloaded our U-Haul and stuff. I lack detail because I'm getting tired off writing so that's it. |

Feb. 4, 2009 Howling Wolf Part 6
Howling Wolf took out his bow and let an arrow fly into the ground behind the cannon. He aimed again, this time higher; he released and the man behind the first cannon lay on the ground. He jumped off his horse, drew his saber, and rushed towards the man behind the second cannon. Engaged in battle, he saw two men armed with rifles aiming at him from his left. He lay the man dead with a thrust, then rolled out of the way as the bullets whizzed by his head.
Antlers shot one with his bow and was off his horse and fighting with his knife only a second later. Antlers had his man down and was running to the third cannon when he heard the bugle call for retreat.
Howling Wolf took the third cannon when he heard the call for retreat, but there was no way they could make it in time. He turned around to see Antlers and three other indians running towards him.
"Behind you," shouted Antlers.
Turning around he saw at least two hundred men coming towards the battle field.
"Help me turn around these cannons," said Howling Wolf pushing the first cannon towards the oncoming enemy.
General Will Branson reached the forest edge when he remembered Howling Wolf. He ran about fifty yards into the forest before he reached his men. They all looked tired and worn, plus it didn't look like there were enough men, for a charge, to rescue the indian chief. He walked up to his lieutenant and put his hand on his shoulder " What's our losses."
The lieutenant looked at the ground and said "Two hundred thirty -six men and forty -seven indians."
"The enemy's numbers," inquired Branson.
"Five hundred strong," replied the lieutenant, in a hushed voice.
Branson looked towards the open prairie, hoping that somehow Howlin Wolf escaped. |

Jan. 26, 2009 My movie review
So I've watched a lot of movies lately and I just decided to do a little review and I will also rate them from one to five. First is Fly Me to the Moon, it's about three flies that go into space and stuff. I didn't really watch it all so I'm giving it a two for not being able to capture my attention. Second is Horton Hears a Who, I thought the movie was pretty funny and I really like the mayors emo kid (that goes out to jman) so I give it 4 and a half stars. Third is Journey to the Center of the Earth, I liked the movie but I think it was just because I havn't read the book, but it has plenty of exploration so i give it 4 stars. Fourth is Bolt in 3D, I thought this was a funny entertaining good family movie, but the 3D greatly lacked and nothing really seemed to be 3D I give it 4 and a half stars. Prince Caspian, I had seen this in the theatre before but that dosn't matter, I thought it was super action packed and they add a lot to the original story but I liked it and I give it a 5 star review. Now comes the Mummy 3, I had seen the first two so the fact that his wife wasn't played by the same person lost it some points, but besides some of the weird parts I give it 4 stars. Space Chimps, this movie was hillarius and very entertaining I give it 5 stars. City of Ember, I watched this movie last night I think it had a good moral of being in darkness then finding the light, this movie was sort of like National Treasure.......exept not, but it is a very very very good movie and I give it 5 stars. That is the end of my movie review please comment on your opinions of these movies. |

| I don't know if I would really consider what I did P.E because it really didn't educate me or take education and it wasn't physically demanding. I was board so I went and got my little brothers bow and arrow. They are the fake plastic type and the arrow had a sucction cup thing so I decided to shoot it at the window. I didn't really shoot it right but it got to the window so it was alright. It entertained me for like fifteen minutes it was totally Awsome! I was really disapointed that it didn't come with a target because I think I could be Pro. |

Jan. 19, 2009 Winston Churchill: Never Give In
Randolph Churchill proposed to a beautiful American, named Jennie Jerome, just days after they first met and she accepted. Seven months later at the Duke's ball people were surprised to see her dancing at seven months pregnant. A few dances later she went into labor, and the next day ,November 30 1874, a son was born to the Churchills; and his name was Winston.
His parents gave into their social life and handed Wiston over to a nanny. Mrs. Elizabeth Anne Everest was a good loving nanny whom Winston grew up to love and respect. He was sent away at the age of seven to go to a boarding school. The schoolmaster was Mr. Sneyd Kynnersley who was extremely mean. He would give the younger boys to his older stydents to be beat until they bled, and then he would whip them. On a visit home Winston's nanny discovered his bruises and called his mother in. His mother took him out of that school and put him in one where he could learn freeley and choose to do what he liked best; Like riding and swimming. |

Jan. 16, 2009 Home economics!
My home ec stuff has just basically been me voulenteering to cook or bake random things. I decided I wanted to make some home made potatoe chips so I did. I cut up four potatoes and fried for like an hour, and yes I was constently standing. My most recent home ec exsperience was making chocalate chip cookie bars. I really wanted to make this dessert and was super excited to do it, but I had my problems. the first mistake wasn't very big but I wasn't happy, I used chocolate chunks instead of chocolate chips. Your probably thinking wow that sounds superb, and it was but the second mistake has made my baking days shortin. Really I accidentally used one teaspoon of shortnin instead of one table spoon. To make it worse I used in the mix instead of just the chocolate sauce. It totally ruined my night, that is until I ate one, but I'm still mad and I'll probably never bake again! |

Jan. 7, 2009 Howling Wolf Part 5
Howling Wolf took the lead, with Antlers and several other indians trailing by only a few feet. The cannons were only about twenty more yards away, if only they could get there without attracting attention. Too late, to their left a group of five riders were rapidly approaching! Without signal two indians broke off with bows in their hands. Howling Wolf saw two arrows fly in unison, both shot with the accuracy to make two men slump in their saddles. Howling Wolf didn't see what happened next because the cannons were dead ahead.
General Will Branson saw the indian group charge through the cloud of gunsmoke towards the cannons. He was then engaged in a duel with a big gruff looking man with a bushey black beard. There was blood running down his cheek and he had a scar across his right ear. General Branson knocked the man down and put his saber to the man's neck and asked " Where is your General."
The man gave a laugh that made Branson's blood run cold, then he pointed to the open prairie. There was his brother along with two hundred rebs dressed in their grey war uniforms. General Will Branson turned white "Retreat" he yelled "Retreat" The order for retreat echoed around the battlefield as hundreds of men ran for the cover of the forest. |

Jan. 6, 2009 Martin Luther
Martin Luther was a simple monk with the crown of his head shaven to symbolize that. He heard ,one day, from townsfolk about the Pope's trick of pay and be saved. He remembered when he used to that, until he read a verse in Romans that stated the way to salvation is through Jesus. Martin Luther was getting tired of these tricks so he decided to write a thesis ninety-five reasons why the Pope's doings were wrong. When it was finished he went and nailed it to the door of the castle church. People were outraged and people were, few but some, agreed with his statements. He was forced to read his charges. Afterwards, he claimed that if there was no scripture to back it up he did no wrong. He tossed the paper into the fire and left. This caused a great uproar in Europe, especially in Germany. The King of Germany requested his presence. All of Martin Luther's friends told him not to go, but he wnt anyway.
As he stood in front of the King and many nobles and priests, he had no fear. The King tried to get Martin Luther to say his writings were wrong, but he said "Show me Scripture where it tells that what I did was wtong and I will be the first one to Through my work into the fire."
The King was greatly annoyed and after Luther left he declared Martin Luther an enemy.
Martin Luther did not know if he was going to make it back alive, when all of a sudden he was scooped up and taken to a small castle. He was kidnapped by friends who wanted to help and it was there Martin Luther wrote the first Bible in German. |

Jan. 6, 2009 Howling Wolf Part 4
It was ten minutes until noon and Howling Wolf could see the enemy approaching. There were about three hundred men compared to their five hundred soldiers and one hundred Indian warriors. General Will Branson was going up and down the ranks giving last minute orders. They had worked out a strategy that when the enemy was about fifty yards away Howling Wolf would attack out of the forest doing this the enemy would turn and face the indians which would give Branson the oppurtunity to attack their front line. Howling Wolf cocked his pistols and looked on intently as the enemy was two hundred, one hundred, fifty yards away. He kicked his horse to a gallop strait for the enemy. As the rebs turned to face them a hundred arrows took to the sky hitting almost all of their marks. Howling Wolf unloaded both of his pistols the first into a horse, the second into a man. He threw the now useless guns and drew his saber charging into the thick of it.
Branson saw the indians charge and saw them unloading on the rebs, then he spurred his horse to a gallop saber in hand. He heard the boom of the guns and saw the rebs fall as he charged into the battle. He quickley lay two men dead with his saber and another with his pistol. Out of the corner of his eye he saw another reb rushing him. As he turned to face him a well placed knife laid the reb to rest. General Branson looked up and saw Howling Wolf, he nodded at Branson then engaged in a duel with another man. Branson charged deeper into the battle, sending six more men to be judged.
Howling Wolf had had just laid a man dead when another attacked and was sent to the same fate. He kicked his horse into a gallop when there was a loud boom and he found himself getting up off the ground. He looked around and saw the enemy had brought more men, and giant guns that shot balls of fire. He ran a man through the back then blew a small wooden whistle, a few seconds later Antlers rode uo with a few other indians and an extra horse.
"The cannons," shouted Howling Wolf "we must take out the cannons." He jumped on the extra horse then started a gallop towards the cannons! |
