WELCOME to our little country corner! My name is Laura. I am a Christian wife and mother who loves the Lord and thanks him daily for the many blessings he has given me. My DH, Skippy and I have 3 BEAUTIFUL children. Goose 21, Bean 19, and Kiddo, 13. We live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley where everyday we are amazed at the AWESOME wonder of this beautiful world that God has created for all of us! Join us as we embark on a new and wonderful journey........our first year home-schooling our son with Asperger's Syndrome and frugal living. PROMOTED TO GLORY!

At 3:00 yesterday afternoon, WL was PROMOTED TO GLORY! He passed away peacefully while Barbara was asleep with her head on his chest. It was her promise that he not be alone, but to be with those that he loved and who loved him when he passed. Praise the Lord that he was able to pass from this world into the arms of someone who loved him, our Heavenly Father, from the arms of someone that loved him, Barbara.

I want to thank you all so much for your prayers and encouragement over the past couple of weeks. The outpouring of love his been tremendous to say the least. What an AMAZING bunch of friends you all have been. You have all touched my life in an unbelieveable way, and for that I will be forever grateful.

Friends and family......................................WHAT A BLESSING!!

It's always so nice to hear from you. It seems you've been through something of late, and as usual you have a wonderful attitude! Love your cooking, wish I could participate. Well, to answer your question, I'm pretty text book, Abeka to be exact. But I'm not rigid with it. I just like the help teaching and the kids are working well with it. But this summer, has me puzzled. Just can't do the textbook thing. And you know I've been quite interested in the unit studies. May have to check out doing a little of that throught the summer. It's good to be back blogging. My parents now live with us, and my dad is sick, so it's taking a little while to get use to homeschooling and taking care of him. But glory to God that I'm able to do this. I wouldn't trade for the world. Sherry

OUR GOSLINGS

Goose graduated this semester from our local community college with an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences. She started new classes yesterday to continue her education, as it is her desire to become a Child Psychologist. She is recently engaged and is planning for an April '09 wedding. Goose enjoys cooking, the outdoors, crabbing, spending time with family and friends, working out, finding mouth-watering Weight Watcher's recipes, watching HOUSE, Will and Grace, BRIDEZILLA, and buying Pampered Chef and Mary Kay!

WE ♥ YOU, GOOSE!

Bean is very artistic and a whiz on the computer. She has recently started making personalized military purses using previously used ACU's. She has orders for 5 purses and a diaper bag. :D She is also enrolled in classes now and will be getting her Associate's Degree in Business when completed. Bean loves animals, enjoys cooking, sleeping, working on the computer, EATING, spending time with friends and family, texting on her cell phone, watching HOUSE, and Paula Dean.

WE ♥ YOU, BEAN!

Kiddo is very much enjoying being homeschooled. He enjoys playing video games, board games, and listening to his MP3 player. He is a STYX, Relient K, and RUSH fan, just like his dad. He also enjoys board games, listening to Adventures in Odyssey, and attending the Youth Group at our church. Kiddo also loves to EAT, play POKEMON, spending time with his cousin, NEMO, arguing with Bean, and watching HOUSE.
