I Have A "Weigh" To Go!

    Hello, my dear friends!

I pray that you are all doing well!  As most of you know, our daughter, Goose, will be getting married April 18, 2009.  Now I know that seems like a long time away, but when you want to lose 100 pounds, a year is NOT LONG ENOUGH!

I have needed to lose weight for a long time now, but have just NOT been motivivated enough to do.  Well, if trying to slip into a skimpy, sleeveless dress, (which BTW, I haven't worn in forever) isn't enough motivation.  I also need to do this for my health and for my family.  I think, hope, PRAY they want me to stay around for awhile!

So, today, I started Weight Watchers with Goose.  Actually she has been doing it for awhile now and has lost about 30 pounds.  With WW I can still eat what I want....I just need to count points, which is not bad.  We calculated what our points would be for each day and here they are:

    Goose 25 points
Bean 22 (thinks this is just not fair that she only gets 22)
    Skippy 45
    Me 35

So far today I have done really well and have only used up 6 points.  I had a 2 egg sandwich with mayo and a cup of French Vanilla coffee.  YUMMM!  I am going to have a strawberry banana yogurt for lunch and that is only 2 pts.  YAY!!!

Ok, ladies.....Are any of YOU trying to lose some unwanted baggage?  If so, stop by and let me know what you are doing to shed those extra pounds.  Perhaps you have a really good recipe that you would like to share with us?

I will also be trying to walk regularly.  Anyone interested in joining me?  Hey, Tara, you're not that far away, come on over!  Losing weight is always easier when you are not doing it alone!!!

    Blessings~
    Laura

    Posted by Barbara George
Hey, I've been going to ww for a few weeks now. I weigh in on Thursdays...that would be tomorrow...
I'm down 11 pounds since starting and I'm now switching to Core. I can use all the encouragement I can get as the older you get the harder it is to lose!! I'll pray for you and you can pray for me. Okay??
    Miss you lots,
    Barb

Oh, dear. We've been talking about this in our house for a couple months. I don't feel I need to lose weight so much as just learn to eat a healthy diet. DH, on the other hand, is a little more of a concern.

His biggest thing has been: slowing down. He started putting down his eating utensils between each bite, chewing it thoroughly, and paying close attention to the "I'm full" signal from his stomach. He lost quite a bit just by doing that. He was full sooner, so he ate less. He wasn't going to do anything really drastic for a diet, since he knew he couldn't stay on it. He just worked to reduce intake by listening to his body.

    Is that helpful?

How wonderful that you have already been successful on WW. To think you have already lost 11 pounds is fantastic!!

I will definitely accept and will be thrilled to give reciprocal prayers. It really does make a difference when you have people encouraging you along the way.

It has been to long, my dear friend, and I hope that we get to see each other again soon. We will be attending Barbara's commissioning in Atlanta on June 8th. We are all so proud of her!

Give my love to Ed and the kids. I sent a friend request to Ed on facebook. One day we WILL meet! lol

Blessings to you and your family!

    LOVE YOU!!
    Laura

Wait a minute..............we DID meet when you were here camping! I am sooooo blonde! lol

Yup, I'm trying to lose it too. I have 68 pounds to go. This seems to be the time of year for it. It must be a combination of finishing the Easter candy and impending bathing suit and wedding season all rolled into one. I've started a blog about it too, if you want to stop by for a little extra encouragement or to check up on me. 8) The link's on my profile.

You can do it! I'll be praying for you!

I got your message, and I have been snooping through your site...you always keep it so beautiful!!

I pray that you'll be able to lose the weight by the wedding! It is so HARD!! I am still working at the last 20 pounds! I have done weight wathers after our first sone was born, and it is good!!

My sister is getting married in September, so I would like to be down a ways yet, but I am so darn inconsistant! I listened to a lady give a talk on gluttony a while ago, and that was painful, but true!! I tend to the worship of the god of my stomoch, rather than the One True God! It is different to hear about that being a sin, as so many of us don't even talk about this one!

Things look good by you in any case! Take Care!!

    OUR GOSLINGS

Goose graduated this semester from our local community college with an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences. She started new classes yesterday to continue her education, as it is her desire to become a Child Psychologist. She is recently engaged and is planning for an April '09 wedding. Goose enjoys cooking, the outdoors, crabbing, spending time with family and friends, working out, finding mouth-watering Weight Watcher's recipes, watching HOUSE, Will and Grace, BRIDEZILLA, and buying Pampered Chef and Mary Kay!

    WE YOU, GOOSE!

Bean is very artistic and a whiz on the computer. She has recently started making personalized military purses using previously used ACU's. She has orders for 5 purses and a diaper bag. :D She is also enrolled in classes now and will be getting her Associate's Degree in Business when completed. Bean loves animals, enjoys cooking, sleeping, working on the computer, EATING, spending time with friends and family, texting on her cell phone, watching HOUSE, and Paula Dean.

    WE YOU, BEAN!

Kiddo is very much enjoying being homeschooled. He enjoys playing video games, board games, and listening to his MP3 player. He is a STYX, Relient K, and RUSH fan, just like his dad. He also enjoys board games, listening to Adventures in Odyssey, and attending the Youth Group at our church. Kiddo also loves to EAT, play POKEMON, spending time with his cousin, NEMO, arguing with Bean, and watching HOUSE.
