BFS #101 - Plop, plop, Fizz, fizz; Oh, What a Relief It Is!

Memory Verse for the week:  Psalms 55:22 - Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee; He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Our Assignment: This would be a good week to tell about your worst struggles with a lifestyle of homeschooling.  Tell about something you’ve struggled with and how God’s mercies gave you the strength to get past it.  Also, share any curriculum/homeschool methods that have been a relief to you, i.e., a particular Teacher’s Manual or Homeschooling method that’s been easier for your family.  Talk about how you felt when the burden was lifted and Oh, What a Relief it is!  If you would like to see some other BFS attendees, please click here!

Our assignment for this week is to tell about your worst struggles.   For me there are a couple of ones that top the list.  I try extremely hard to be consistent in keeping to my lesson plans, but that is not always the case, as you would be able to tell by all the arrows on my calendar reminding me to move todays lessons to tomorrow.  I think one of the problems is that I have not been able to really find a balance yet between everything.  Will it get better?  Will I ever really find my groove?

Another is my son, Kiddo, whom I LOVE with all my .  He is such a loving young man with such a kind spirit and gentle soul.  I love being able to have this amazing opportunity to teach him from the safe, comfortable surroundings of our home and to be able to teach him God's word not only through using the Bible, but in all aspects of his education as well.   Another struggle is that I have been trying to make him do things the way I think they should be done instead of how HE can do them.  I need to be more patient, more flexible, and more in tuned to what his needs and wants are.  I thought I knew what they were, but I really don't.  I guess I thought I didn't really need to know since someone else had always taught him.  Sometimes I still feel so inadequate and wonder...."WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!  How on earth did you think you could do this?"  But then when I see that gleem in his eyes, or see that beautiful on his face when he finally gets and understands something that has caused him to struggle...........all is right with the world!

"This is what the Lord says - your Redeemer, the Holy One of Isreal:  "I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go."

                                                                Isaiah 48:17

    Blessings~

Awesome pictures! I absolutely love the leaf one!

I was just saying last night that I need to be a bit more flexible and think about what works best for the kids, not necessarily what is easiest for me!

I'm the same way with my oldest. It's so hard to teach a child whose learning style if so different from your own. Trust me...if you think you have a tough time, imagine how unsuccessful a teacher with 20 other students would be. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I appreciate your comments.

I think we all struggle with balance! Isn't it good that God is patient and always teaches us? :-)
