Memory Verse: Matthew 28: 20 - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen.
Assignment: In the memory verse Jesus tells us that He will never leave us, not even at the end of the world. He assures us in this verse that He will be with us and that means through everything we go through in life. I thought it would be interesting to write about the things we would never leave home without. For some it might be baby needs, others it might be a gym bag and bottle of water, and for some it might be your Bible and a notepad or small journal, maybe even your son or daughters favorite blankie! I’d like for you to write about something that you would never leave home without.
For our assignment this week, we were to write about something we would never leave the house without. I thought about it and realized that whatever stage my life is in, is really what determines what I never leave the house without!
For instance, when I had infants, I would never leave the house without a diaper bag FILLED with formula, diapers, wipes, toys, my stroller, and extra clothing.
When they were toddlers, I would never leave without Adventures In Odyssey tapes, juice boxes, extra clothes, snacks, books, and a big bottle of Tylenol.
When they were teenagers, I never left the house without the CAR KEYS, my cell phone, or my CASH! Oh, yeah...and VALIUM!
Now, at this stage of my life, my priorities have changed. One thing I try and never leave the house without is my purse, as this contains almost my entire world; my allet, makeup, keys, a brush, pen, money (when I have it) a book, and Tylenol.
Another thing I try to never leave the house without is saying goodbye to my family. It was a big thing with my mother, and to be honest, it really used to bother me that she would get on me about it. My mother passed away in 2004 while in the hospital with my brother there. When my sister and I left her room to go to the airport to pick up my siblings, Mom was sleeping, so I did not want to wake her when I left to say goodbye. Oh, how I wish I had. So, as I'm sure you have guessed, it is now a big thing for me. It's sad sometimes that we have to go through difficult circumstances in our lives before we realize how important some of the little things really are!
I never leave home without the love of my husband and family, and I NEVER leave without my Heavenly Father. I can never forget Him or leave Him somewhere. He is ALWAYS with me no matter where I go. Isn't that an AWESOME thought?
Jesus.....NEVER leave home without HIM!
