BFS Assignment #107- When Theres No Tomorrow

Memory Verse: Ecclesiastes 1:13-14
I devoted myself to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven. What a heavy burden God has laid on men! I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
Assignment: We only have today. Should God take you today, have you accomplished everything that you wanted to, needed to. Have you said all the things that needed to be said? Let’s have no regrets, let’s make sure we get to those things, so that when we’re standing before the Lord, the only thing we need to do is to worship him.. and not regret not getting to that thing on our to do list. Stop - go take care of that thing…. then, come tell us what you choose to share. Don’t embarrass yourself or any of your loved ones
I would LOVE to say that I don't have any regrets, but that would be lying. There are things that I wish that I would have said to the people in my life that have passed on before me, but unfortunately, I will not have that chance and that weighs heavy on my heart.
I can't do anything about what has happened or what has not happened in the past, but I can do something about what will happen in the future. I will put God first and foremost in my life. I will have a closer relationship with God. I will be more deligent in spreading the word of God and witnessing to others. I will make it a point to tell my family, as much as I can, how much I love them and how much they mean to me. I will be the best daughter/wife/mother/sister/aunt/friend that I can be.
When God decides that my time on this earth is through, I want to have a clean heart, empty of regret, but overflowing with love for my Lord and Savior, so I can then bow down before my God and praise His precious, holy name!
Blessings~

BFS #4 - Never Leave Home Without It!
Memory Verse: Matthew 28: 20 - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen.
Assignment: In the memory verse Jesus tells us that He will never leave us, not even at the end of the world. He assures us in this verse that He will be with us and that means through everything we go through in life. I thought it would be interesting to write about the things we would never leave home without. For some it might be baby needs, others it might be a gym bag and bottle of water, and for some it might be your Bible and a notepad or small journal, maybe even your son or daughters favorite blankie! I’d like for you to write about something that you would never leave home without.
For our assignment this week, we were to write about something we would never leave the house without. I thought about it and realized that whatever stage my life is in, is really what determines what I never leave the house without!
For instance, when I had infants, I would never leave the house without a diaper bag FILLED with formula, diapers, wipes, toys, my stroller, and extra clothing.
When they were toddlers, I would never leave without Adventures In Odyssey tapes, juice boxes, extra clothes, snacks, books, and a big bottle of Tylenol.
When they were teenagers, I never left the house without the CAR KEYS, my cell phone, or my CASH! Oh, yeah...and VALIUM!
Now, at this stage of my life, my priorities have changed. One thing I try and never leave the house without is my purse, as this contains almost my entire world; my allet, makeup, keys, a brush, pen, money (when I have it) a book, and Tylenol.
Another thing I try to never leave the house without is saying goodbye to my family. It was a big thing with my mother, and to be honest, it really used to bother me that she would get on me about it. My mother passed away in 2004 while in the hospital with my brother there. When my sister and I left her room to go to the airport to pick up my siblings, Mom was sleeping, so I did not want to wake her when I left to say goodbye. Oh, how I wish I had. So, as I'm sure you have guessed, it is now a big thing for me. It's sad sometimes that we have to go through difficult circumstances in our lives before we realize how important some of the little things really are!
I never leave home without the love of my husband and family, and I NEVER leave without my Heavenly Father. I can never forget Him or leave Him somewhere. He is ALWAYS with me no matter where I go. Isn't that an AWESOME thought?
Jesus.....NEVER leave home without HIM!

Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
Matthew 22:37

BFS - KEEW YKCAW....oops....WACKY WEEK! :D

We have been having fun enjoying "WACKY WEEK" at Blogger Friend School! Everything is wacky fun! This week, our assignment is to share something of your choice that is little “Wacky”!!!
Have you done something crazy in your homeschool? Do you fingerpaint with your toes? Do you let your children do your hair? Do you wear your pajamas during homeschool? Oh, the list is endless, but it’s up to you and how much fun you want to have.
To make it even “wackier”, we can try and type some or all of our post sdrawkcab. (backwards!)
!keew gnixaler dna nuf a siht ekaM
(…and forwards…Make this a fun and relaxing week!)
This assignment was a little hard for me. It's not that we don't like to have fun or that we don't ever do anything WACKY, but in our daily schooling, I have to try and keep things as normal as possible. Kiddo is so easily distracted that the slightest turn in either direction can cause our whole day to take an unexpected detour that we don't come back from for quite some time. Some days that is good, but then there are days where I just want to "throw caution to the wind" and just fly by the seat of my pants. How refreshing that would be huh?
I don't know, but maybe this being only our second year of homeschooling, I still don't feel comfortable enough yet in my own teaching, that I will be able to get all of our curriculum goals accomplished if we don't follow our schedule. Does that make any sense? I am also still getting to know Kiddo's learning style. Should I have already mastered that in one year? : > 0
If I had to pick something that we do that IS WACKY, I guess it would be that we DO homeschool in our pajamas....a LOT more than I care to admit! lol
So, what do YOU do that's WACKY?!?!?!?!?!?
Blessings~ Laura |

BFS Assignment #103 It keeps going, and going, and going
. (Energizer)
|

Memory Verse:
Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 1 Timothy 4:15 (NIV)
Intro: It keeps going, and going, and going…. (Marketing credit: Energizer)
Housekeeping: that household mess, it keeps going and going and going. It’s a perpetual chore that we diligently need to keep going on to stay on top it. We all have different ways of keeping ourselves energized.
Assignment: How do you keep energized so you can get it all done? bouncy music? treat it like a workout? Do you use a schedule?, a housekeeping binder system? luck of the draw system?.. or is this an area where you need encouragement? Do you need God’s help to keep order and beauty in your dwelling place? Take this week to tell us how You diligently keep going with your housekeeping chores.
I wish I could say that I had a special system that I used to get everything done around my house and to keep organized, but the truth is, I have a hard time getting things finished or even remembering sometimes where I put them! My kids blame it on my "old age!" lol The truth is, since I started homeschooling, I feel like I have less time to get all the things done that I need to do during the day. Does anyone else feel that way?
I have to say I feel like Pat does a lot of the time. It is hard when you have spent a few hours cleaning only to have them walk right behind you and mess it all up again. URGHHH! That can be very frustrating.
I find the best time for me to clean is when EVERYONE is in bed. No distractions and no interruptions! I have tried different ways to try and organize my time to be more productive, but I have not found a way that works well for me...........yet!
Part of our assignment was to share with you some before and after pics of a space we have been working on/your favorite tools/or a youtube video of music you like to listen to while doing housework. I just LOVE to listen to Phillips, Craig, and Dean. Their music is so uplifting! Please take a moment to view my video or Mercy Came Running. You will be certainly be blessed!
Please scroll to the bottom of my page and pause my playlist before viewing the video! :D
Do you have any suggestions that might be of help? Please feel free to leave a comment with any ideas you may have.
Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be our confidence and will kep your foot from being snared.
Proverbs 3:25-26
Have a great week!
Blessings~

BFS Assignment #102 - Try it, Youll Like It!
BFS Assignment #102 - Try it, You’ll Like It!
Memory Verse: Psalms 26:2 NIV
Test me, O LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind.
Assignment: This week I want you to do something for someone else. Do you have a neighbor that needs you? Do you know an elderly person or single mom that could use you? What about the homeless? Pack even one single sack lunch and give it to someone in need. Do you know someone in blogland that is struggling right now and could use a note from you about how much you care? Pray about this. Let God put on your heart the perfect thing for you to do for another. Now, here is the kicker…I DO NOT want you to post about what you do. Whatever you choose to do is between you and God. Our rewards are in heaven, not here on earth, Mathew 6:1. I want you to post about how doing this “act” made you feel. Was stepping out of your comfort zone in this area as hard as you thought it might be? Could you see the gratefulness in their eyes? Hear it in their voice? Tell it from their typing? Do you think you might make doing things like this a more regular part of your time? If this is an area that you are already active in, tell us how you feel this has impacted your life.
I LOVE helping people! It can be something as simple as taking a package to the Post Office or just watching my neighbors cat while they are away on vacation. My DH tells me that I sometimes spread myself a bit too thin. Oh, how I wish the word "thin" could be used in the same sentence with my name! lol
We were asked not to write about what we did to help someone, but to write about how doing this act of kindness made us feel. I was THRILLED that I was even asked to help. I spent 2 1/2 hours on Saturday and about 4 hours on Sunday. We worked and laughed. It was a blessing to not only spend time with this person, but to be able to do something nice for them. To see the look of appreciation in their eyes warms my heart!
Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
Matthew 25:40

Blessings~
