WELCOME to our little country corner! My name is Laura. I am a Christian wife and mother who loves the Lord and thanks him daily for the many blessings he has given me. My DH, Skippy and I have 3 BEAUTIFUL children. Goose 21, Bean 19, and Kiddo, 13. We live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley where everyday we are amazed at the AWESOME wonder of this beautiful world that God has created for all of us! Join us as we embark on a new and wonderful journey........our first year home-schooling our son with Asperger's Syndrome and frugal living. Dad (and Rascal) really loves his body pillow he got from Kiddo and the "favorite" peanut M&M's he got from Goose.

After a dinner of BBQ ribs, sweet corn, homemade cole slaw and mashed potatoes, we had these beautiful, delicious cupcakes I made for dessert!

Please Come Check Out My New Blog Layout...........What Do You Think?

I am in the process of designing my own blog layout, but in the mean time, I wanted something that was nice and FINISHED! Without being able to use the computer in the office and get on-line, it is hard to use Microsoft Frontpage, where I can lay everything out and view it on the internet to make sure it looks right and all the links work.

I had gotten my last layout from Jo over at RecycledTemplates here on HSB. She has layouts that you can use that others have made and would like to share. It's a really great idea she came up with. If you have any layouts that you would like to share, please stop by and leave Jo a message. You will get the credit for your donation.

When I hopped over there yesterday to see if she had any new ones, I saw a link for Eye Catching Designs so I had to check out it out. I was very impressed! Eye Catching Designs, is run/owned by a 15 year old high school sophomore named Brittney. She has a few templates up with the codes for you to grab, and is working on some more with a "country" theme. I certainly can't wait for those......I just country and primitive things.

So what do you think of my layout? I really like it, but I am trying to figure out how to add the third column to it. Anyone have any idea how to do that? Your help would be greatly appreciated!!

I don't know if you have seen this video made by Anita Renfroe or not, but If you haven't you NEED to! I laughed so hard the first time I saw it, and continue to laugh every other of the bizzillion times I have watched it since.

I did not know there was a sequel until today. I hope you enjoy both of these videos as much as I have.

20 Great Reasons You Homeschool

Happy Saturday, everyone! It is a glorious day here in VA. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and I am drinking a cup of Almond Vanilla coffee watching Bailey run in circles in the freshly cut lawn........................................LIFE IS GOOD!

I was over at found Bobbi's the other day and found this great little comic and just had to share it with you. My favorite reasons are; "School prayer is encouraged" and "Your family is right where they ought to be..........HOME!" Although I have to admit, I have taken "You can wear your pajamas to class and not get kicked out" a little bit to the extreme! lol

So, what are the some of the reasons you homeschool?

OUR GOSLINGS

Goose graduated this semester from our local community college with an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences. She started new classes yesterday to continue her education, as it is her desire to become a Child Psychologist. She is recently engaged and is planning for an April '09 wedding. Goose enjoys cooking, the outdoors, crabbing, spending time with family and friends, working out, finding mouth-watering Weight Watcher's recipes, watching HOUSE, Will and Grace, BRIDEZILLA, and buying Pampered Chef and Mary Kay!

WE ♥ YOU, GOOSE!

Bean is very artistic and a whiz on the computer. She has recently started making personalized military purses using previously used ACU's. She has orders for 5 purses and a diaper bag. :D She is also enrolled in classes now and will be getting her Associate's Degree in Business when completed. Bean loves animals, enjoys cooking, sleeping, working on the computer, EATING, spending time with friends and family, texting on her cell phone, watching HOUSE, and Paula Dean.

Kiddo is very much enjoying being homeschooled. He enjoys playing video games, board games, and listening to his MP3 player. He is a STYX, Relient K, and RUSH fan, just like his dad. He also enjoys board games, listening to Adventures in Odyssey, and attending the Youth Group at our church. Kiddo also loves to EAT, play POKEMON, spending time with his cousin, NEMO, arguing with Bean, and watching HOUSE.
