    First Day of School?

It's hard to say when our first day of school really started this year, since we had never really stopped from last year.  We kept up working over the summer doing spelling, handwriting, and reading with some science and math thrown in here and there.  I remember how hard it was to get him back into the swing of things at school after the summer was over and I wanted to avoid that at all costs!

Back in the beginning of July, we started adding a new subject every two weeks or so.  I thought it would be a great idea for Kiddo for us to be adding one thing at a time, instead of jumping right back in with both feet.  PTL, we were right.  Yesterday was our first "FULL" day of school, with all of our subjects and extras added in.  I wish someone would have reminded me about PHYSICAL SCIENCE!    Aside from a little moaning and groaning about not having as much time to play videao games, I feel we had a "GREAT DAY!!"  I really wasn't sure at first if we would get everything finished befire midnight, but we did.

The other day, Skippy was so sweet and moved the table and chair set that we had in our bedroom (it used to hold the computer) into the office so that Kiddo and I had a "real" place for school.  (Thank you, my sweet Skippy Man!! )   Last year we were always at the computer screen and over the summer it was; "Sit down where ever there is a clean spot!"  lol  It's nice to now have a place to call "our own!"

(If only I had another Kitty bookend)

It's a nice spot right in front of the window where today, it was a glorious day with a soft breeze that came right in and gently kissed our faces.  Kiddo and I just  that!   We like this spot because we have everything we need right there in front of us.  No more going from one place to another to get his folders or workbooks, or even sharpen pencils.  We even have not one, but TWO globes, right at our fingertips.  COOL, huh?    I am also in the process of getting together some material to make a "school bag" that we can put our things in and go "schoolin" at the park or even over at Aunt C.'s house.  Hmmm.....the portable classroom  .....I like it!

I thank God that He has allowed us this awesome privilege of homeschooling Kiddo.  It has been extremely difficult, but God has proven time after time, that He will provide for our every need!

    Blessings~
    Laura
