Home Is Where My Heart Is

Was it Daniel or Davy??

My oldest daughter and nephew were having a conversation with me about the town of Boonesborough KY.  The place where Daniel Boone grew up.  They asked ME if I knew anything about it or Daniel Boone.  Here was my response:

"All I really know about Daniel Boone is he was at The Alamo".

Whoopsie!!!

My daughter made this comment:

"Mom, that was Davy Crockett and we're going to homeschool?" (HA)

In which I responded, "We'll ALL learn together!!"

It's going to be an interesting year!!!!

LOL! Yep, that's right, you'll all learn together, now that they are HOME. Don't worry, integrated learning will happen if you persue your child's interests.

My oldest does that to me all the time! Very humbling... I have so much to learn! That is one of the reasons why we homeschool too!

You are definitely not alone! When my girls no more than me, I am just thankful for how much they have learned (in spite of me!!!). That just keeps me humble, and knowing that God is in charge and He's working in their lives, and it's not all about me and what I can teach them! (I think keeping me humble must be His pasttime! I seem to stay there a lot.)
Thanks for your prayers. It has been a lonnnnnng week. The wife of the man who drowned has such a testimony. Her walk with the Lord is unbelieveable. Hope to see you soon.

LOL...you WILL all learn together! When Kaitlyn was smaller, I used to tell people that "we were only in the second (or third....or whatever) grade!" Meaning that I was pretty much right at her education level at that point, because I think that I forgot most everything that I actually learned in school myself. Sadly, now she's in ninth grade, so I don't have much of an excuse anymore not to know stuff. :o)
