Posted in The Adoption Journey for Our Future Grandchildren
Wow! The New Year rolls around, and all of a sudden Chelle and Josh are being flooded with information about children to take in for either foster care or in the foster to adopt program. They were certified for fostering/adopting way back in September, and had really expected a placement before the holidays, but it wasn't meant to be.
We are betting that the agencies didn't want to uproot children at that time of year, and that lots of staff was away for the holidays, because just this week the ball has really been rolling. Besides the two little girls I mentioned yesterday, Kyilie and Lindsey, they have heard from Hamilton and Cuyohoga County. The little boy that they first fell in love with on the AdoptOhio website, Malik, is still available and they were contacted about him. Also a little preemie with some issues. I don't remember the name of this little one. I imagine they will hear more as the month goes on.
Chelle and Josh may end up like the Old Woman in the Shoe. All of a sudden agencies are finally starting to contact them right and left, and when you see the pictures and hear the stories, you want to take each and every one of them and love them up and kiss away the hurts life has brought to them.
I am so excited about this! Please continue to pray that the Lord leads them to just the right child or children. And pray for this grandma, as I will be helping to care for them and teach them when Chelle is on bedrest during her upcoming pregnancy, which she hopes will be in the spring. I'll be one busy mom and grandma!
