Idea or Ideal?

Our hs co-op has been trying to come up with some new classes to teach for the spring session.  I know, winter isn't here yet, why worry about Spring?  We are hoping to get our topics in order to give the teachers time to come up with the curriculum they want to use.   So, we were in need of some "ideals" for the new classes.   However, some people are asking what is an "ideal-l-l-l" ?  Well, that would be the hillbilly phrase for "idea".  This is where teaching phonics by the sound of the letters would not be a good "idea".  Can you imagine how my kids would be spelling things?  So, I guess my class for next week will be "English 101-How to get rid of the twang".lol

Ha! Ha! Ha!! I SOOO know what you mean with that whole twang thing! I have so many memories of visiting the family in KY when I was a child and not understanding a word they were saying for at least the first two days we were there. THEN, when I'd get home all my school friends would tell me how I had a funny accent. (yes, I pick up accents REALLY easy) I can't imagine trying to teach phonics to my already struggling 8 yr old if there was a twang involved! ha ha! Count me blessed!

OK, but we all still love you! Isn't that what you got out of the hard time I was giving you?!?! :)
DD has certain words that she's always said wrong, but it was too cute, and I didn't want to correct her. Now that she's spelling I've finally had to correct her speech, and it makes me sad!
