I never thought I would be a blogger! When TOS asked me to participate, I was hesitant but decided to give it a try.

After Aslan (who is the world's greatest blog support, by the way) worked me through the ins and outs of how to get my blog up and running and then how to "unsquish" my photo, I started writing and immediately got addicted. For instance, for the next two weeks I have relatives visiting from out of town; and although I love my family and I'm enjoying them immensely, I keep finding myself "sneaking off to take a peek at what's going on at homeschoolblogger.com.

As a matter of fact, it's 3:30 a.m. when I'm writing this and hoping no one catches me.

If this keeps up, my husband is threatening to send me to the nearest BA (oops, I mean AA) group.

Thanks, TOS, I am now a confirmed blogoholic!

Leave a testimony

"I've placed banner ads in The Old Schoolhouse e-news, printed ads in their magazine, and had reviews done by the TOS staff.

Within days of the ads appearing, the orders started flowing in!

This keeps me busy, but it's great for business!

I read my TOS magazine from cover to cover... even the ads!... so, I am quite sure the multitudes they are reaching with the magazine will see my ad too!

The marketing dept. has been terrific in accommodating my advertising needs.

Thanks, TOS!"

Today - it's an even smaller Small World After All!  by Heidi
So, by now you know I'm all a bit of a Disney fanatic - and, yes, I even like the It's A Small World ride!  LOL  The other week, I posted about what a funny thing it was to run into Todd Wilson at the pretzel factory in Lancaster County.  Well, today we had another amazing "small world incident"...... I shared the other day about how I found an armoire entertainment center on Craig's List.  Well, Brian and I went to check it out this morning.  It was about an hour's drive from home, but it looked exactly like what I've  (more)

Sea World family photo  by ShannonC
Aren't we oh so color coordinated?  I don't know how that happened!  It was a bazillion degrees outside that day, but we had a great time.  The water park inside Sea World was a very welcome break from the beating sun on pavement!  (more)
Chapter Two: The Visitors  by Jordan
Here's chapter 2. . . finally Sorrin caught up with the rest of the hunters at the bottom of the hill. The lead hunter, Eltair, was standing over the dead boar with two of his own spears stabbed deep into its flank. He laughed when he saw Sorrin and Sordoin. "Well now," he said, "Where have you been? You must remember, my prince, to follow the instructions of those more experienced than yourself. Did I not tell you that boars have longer strides than common pigs?" Sorrin nodded. He was about to say something when a man rode up on a horse. "Prince (more)

Saturday, July 5, 2008 .. on the mend ..  by homeschoolAK
4:37 p.m. ADT What a yucky bug that has been for poor Eden (and me being the clean-up crew :( ).  It was a good 18 hours of emptying out and she is finally beginning to keep crackers, water, and some grapes down.  Still the complaint of a sore tummy and needing to constantly on you so absolutely nothing else has been accomplished in two days.  What else can you do but enjoy the snuggle time, no sense stressing out that things aren't getting done!  (I'm a slow learner!). Bob and Tanis flew out to the cabin this afternoon to commence the (more)
Declaration of Independence  by Sam
As Americans celebrate the 232nd anniversary of the signing of The Declaration of Independence, one scholar notes the document is more a submission to God than an assertion of rights.   Dr. Larry Arnn is president of Hillsdale College in Michigan. In a recent article published on TownHall.com, Arnn calls The Declaration of Independence "a most remarkable declaration." He says that it is remarkable to remember that all who supported the document and all who signed the document were committing acts of treason punishable by death. But perhaps most remarkable was the documents four references to God.   "The posture of The Declaration of Independence (more)
Calling All Advertisers.. This is The Way To Go!  by Mikki
I feel like I'm getting more and more internet savvy with each new day. Yesterday, I had no idea what social media advertising was. Do you? Well to put it into 'domestic engineer' terms, it's a GREAT way for companies to get their name and product out into the public via the media- namely the internet. And with all the bloggers here at HSBer alone and TONS of other blog groups, you'd think that companies would be jumping at the chance of getting their name out to millions of people. Their are hundreds of SAHM's that use the internet to research (more)
The next season of life....  by Belinda Letchford
Over the last few months I have seen the benefits of allowing seasons of life to direct the type of learning that goes on in our family.  This week I wrote in my newsletter.... Seasons come and go, they bring with them unique opportunities and if we dont grab the opportunity now, we cannot replicate it during the next season. We cannot go to the beach in the winter! The beach is for summer, warm fires is for winter. Term 2 for us is a season of team sports; on Saturday mornings the boys play cricket and the (more)

Elisabeth's Latest Designs...So Cute!  by picketfencemom
I thought I'd share photos of the travel bags Elisabeth (one of my twin daughters) recently designed and created for friends of ours. Chasidy and Lacey did a fantastic job of choosing fabrics for their bags, and I thought the final creations turned out too cute not to share! I think that one of Elisabeth's talents definitely lies in the textile design area...plus she loves the whole process...from designing on paper to creating with fabric to adding embroidery for style!  (more)
So sorry I haven't posted!  by Jan
Sorry I haven't posted! I guess I just got tired of blogging for a little while. Does anyone else ever get tired of blogging? Nothing much eventful has happened here, except that a medical helicopter almost landed in the field across the street on the Fourth, but then it flew away. I don't think this post is going to be very long. I just can't think of anything to post about. Oh!! I just thought of something. I have a new person on my friends list!! Click on HorsieBabe to see her blog. It is really cool. (more)
