Serving Him on this journey called, "Life."

Schooling and Working
I got the job! Also, our sixteen year old got his driver's license today! Yikes!
God is so good! I have a question to fellow homeschool bloggers. Can any of you who work give me advice about keeping it all together. I am very organized by nature, but tips are always welcomed! |

Changes
Life is full of changes! A year ago I would never have dreamed our family would be on the path we are on today. As of June 1st my husband changed jobs, we made a decision to leave our church, and there is a possibility that I will be going back to work after sixteen years! These are definitely unchartered water for us. I have a degree in finance, but have been home with our children since they were born. I am awaiting an answer to an offer I placed with a local accounting firm to do bookkeeping work. The thought of it all makes me nervous. I have no doubt that God is with us, but it is walking out the faith part that is a little scary. I am holding on to the verse:
Jeremiah 29:11: 11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
I have worked most of the summer to organize our homeschool. We will continue 11th and 10th grade at home. Should I work outside the home, our children's skills will become more defined as they prepare for college. It is time to put to use all that training!! |

Ben Hur
Our family just finished reading Ben Hur. What a wonderful story! If you haven't read it I strongly encourage you to add it to your library! I am looking for an online study guide or questions that I can use in our discussions. Any suggestions? |

Renewed and Refreshed!
I just returned from working three days on a Chrysalis Journey weekend. This is a special retreat for college-aged girls and boys. What a wonderful experience to sit with these girls. Although I served on team, God blessed me in many special ways as well. My husband and I were able to give a talk on marriage. This cemented our bond even tighter! I was able to take time to reflect and refocus. I am now ready to sit down to plan our goals for our homeschool this year. I have our curriculum and resources, but it is a matter of making it work for our family. School starts for us two weeks from today! |

New Here!
Greetings from the Sunshine State! I am excited about being a part of homeschoolblogger. I have homeschooled for six years. I have a 16 year old son and a 14 year old daughter. Yes, we are high schooling! I have gleened so much over the last six years. I hope I can share things with this community, as well as learn new tips here. I have already gone to a huge book sale, the curriculum convention, made purchases on vegsource and ebay....I am now in the planning stages for our 11th and 10th grade years. This is one of my favorite times. It is all so new and exciting! |
