Was I at the wrong place at the wrong time or right place at the right time?
On my way to the bank this morning, I noticed a few men running across the inter-section amongst the moving traffic. Naturally I blurt out to my husband, who, immediately mutates into Mr. Cop. He maneuvers our car out of traffic to the bank parking lot, rushing toward the two men; one struggling on the ground, the other holding him down shouting. Mr. Cop immediately takes control. I watch from the car in awe . The struggle between the two men immediately leaves upon my husbands arrival. The man on the ground surrenders for a weapons search, he is placed Indian style on the ground, hands behind his back. He is now retained while we wait for the police. After talking with the police, we find our bank closed. It appears the man in custody, had just tried to rob our bank.
Our Citizen Hero, was not a man in a cape or uniform. He was a normal man, wearing flip-flops, on his way to physical therapy. Not dressed or trained for rescue. Yet, he gave his all, helping while others watched. Thank You!
My husbands police training is not what surprises me but his gentle spirit. He was not controlled by the situation or adrenaline, therefore remaining calm and defusing a tense situation in the spirit of love. After 23 years of marriage, I am still amazed with my husband, my hero.
Mathew 5:44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you
