Have you ever read about tomb robbers or crocodile mummies? You just might want to read Mummies and Pyramids. My little archaeologists are having a great time exploring Ancient Egypt; learning how mummies were made, pyramids were built and all kinds of fascinating facts about Tutankamun.
Oh, your post reminded me of the mummy we made that same session of pyramid building. Believe it or not, we mummified a Cornish Game Hen. It took a few weeks, but it really worked! We affectionately called our mummy "Chicken Tut." After it was mummified, we took it out of its process, wrapped it in torn sheets, and made a sarcophagus out of a Salt Walter sandal shoe box (cute size and it had a handle on it). Everybody wanted it, so we had a name-drawing contest to see who got to take Chicken Tut home at the end of the 8-week Satellite School session. LOL
Educating your child may be the most taxing affair you will ever administer. On the other hand, is it not one of the most important tools we can offer to enhance ones knowledge and possibilities. May we touch the lives of children for a lifetime
