Chocolate Christmas Mice Cookies
INGREDIENTS:
- 24 Double Stuffed Oreos
- 1 C. chocolate chips
- 2 tsp. shortening
- 24 maraschino cherries
- 24 chocolate kisses
PREPARATION:
1. Carefully twist Oreo cookies apart. Set aside the ones with the cream filling on them; save plain halves for another use.
2. In microwave, melt chocolate chips and shortening; stir until smooth.
3. Holding cherry by stem, dip in melted chocolate, then press onto the bottom of a chocolate kiss.
4. Place cherry and kiss onto the cream filling of the cookie. Let stem extend over the edge.
5. Make ears for your mouse by placing sliced almonds between the cherry and the kiss (before the chocolate sets).
6. Place in refrigerator until chocolate sets.
7. With green decorative gel, pipe holly leaves on white cream of cookie by the mouse.
8. Pipe holly berries between the leaves with the red gel.
9. Pipe eyes on each chocolate kiss.
10. Store in airtight container at room temperature.

CHOCOLATE ECLAIR

2 sm. pkgs. vanilla instant pudding
3 c. milk
1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
1 pkg. graham crackers
Make vanilla pudding with just 3 cups of milk. Mix Cool Whip with pudding. Layer in a 9 x 13 inch pan as follows: layer whole graham crackers, then 1/2 Cool Whip and pudding mixture, then layer graham crackers, then other 1/2 of Cool Whip and pudding mixture, then top with graham crackers (one layer). Frost with chocolate frosting for Eclair Cake. I heat the fudge cake frosting mix for 30 seconds and pour over graham crackers. chill 1 hour

No Bake Rocky Road
 20 min 20 min prep
- Melt morsels with milk and butter.
- Remove from heat.
- In large bowl combine nuts and marshmallows.
- Fold in chocolate mixture.
- Spread in wax paper lined 9 by 13 pan.
- Chill 2 hours until firm.
- Remove from pan and peel off wax paper.
- Cut into squares.
- Store at room temp.
Cake Mix Apple Crisp
35 min 5 min prep
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Cut apple slices crosswise in half.
- Place in 9-inch square pan; sprinkle with dry cake mix.
- In small bowl, combine sugar & cinnamon; sprinkle over cake mix.
- Drizzle with butter.
- Bake 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
- Serve warm with ice cream, if desired!
Brownie Peanut Butter Cups
40 min 10 min prep

ounce) package rich and moist fudge brownie mix |

miniature peanut butter cups |
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Line 18 muffin cups with paper baking cups.
- In a large bowl, combine the dry brownie mix, oil, water and eggs.
- Beat for 50 strokes with a spoon.
- Fill the lined muffin cups 2/3 full.
- Press 1 peanut butter cup into each cup until the top edge of the candy is even with the top of the batter.
- Bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until the brownies are set (do not overbake).
- Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pans.
Carmel Corn
15 cup popped corn
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup butter
¼ cup pancake syrup
½ tsp. Salt
½ tsp. Baking soda
1. Over medium heat mix 1 cup brown sugar, ½ cup butter, ¼ cup pancake syrup, ½ tsp. salt.
2. After bubbling remove from heat and add baking soda and stir in popcorn
3. Place popcorn on cookie sheet and bake at 200 for 1 hour
4. Cool on countertop for 30 minutes and enjoy

The peanut butter and jelly sandwich is very popular with both adults and children in the US and Canada. Dec. 27, 2007 A Little Spice to Everyday Learning
Learning all those prepositions can be redundant and boring so why not add a little fun. Don't just repeat those boring words, say them while signing. I like to use both the Perigee Visual Dictionary of Signing and the ASL Browser.
After six weeks of using the Classical Conversations Foundation Guide, as my core Curriculum, the memory work is getting hard. I have been amazed at my children's ability to memorize and my decreasing ability. I had to call on Dr. Memory for a little help.

Nov. 18, 2007 Grandma's Cinnamon Rolls

My kids couldn't believe I could make cinnamon rolls, grandmas not the only one with the recipe, so I thought I better take picture. Who knows if I'll get around to it again.
Dough:
1 package of yeast or 2 ½ tsp. 3 ½ cups flour
¼ cup melted butter 2 eggs
½ cup warm water 3 Tablespoons Sugar
2/3 cup warm milk
Knead Dough for 15 minutes and cover for 30minutes. Push down and knead, roll dough out on a floured board to a large thin rectangle. Brush dough with melted butter. Combine filling ingredients. Sprinkle dough with this mixture. Roll jellyroll fashion, starting with long edge. Seal edges, slice into 10-20 rolls. Place cut side down onto baking sheet or greased glass dish. Cover and let rise in a warm place till doubled, about 45 minutes.
Bake at 350 degrees 20 to 25 minutes. Brush with melted butter. Drizzle with icing.
Filling:
½ cup melted butter 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
½ cup granulated sugar ½ cup packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips optional
Icing:
2 ½ cups Powder sugar
½ cup Butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ tablespoon milk
Mix sugar, butter and vanilla. Slowly add milk until desired taste and texture.

Nov. 17, 2007 Yummy Pizza Recipe
Italian Spaghetti Bread for my Pizza Dough
1 package of yeast or 2 ½ teaspoons
3 cups of flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/3 cup parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 ½ cup of warm water
Knead for 10 to 15 minutes, cover in lightly greased bowl or Kitchen Aide for 1 ½ hours, knead and shape on pizza pan ( I love my stoneware) and cover with dish towel for 45 minutes. Top with your own sauce or use Ragu Pizza Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese and our favorite Pastrami.
Bake 425 for 15 -20 minutes and enjoy!

You know how to do it all but you just can’t find the time or the extra arms. Are you tired of trying to manage your house, home school and everything in between. Do you ever feel like your sinking? I know, I do! Now, with The Fly Lady, I just might grow that extra arm. I'm learning how to manage my house with as little as one hour a day. Aug. 23, 2007 Signing Time! Volume 5: ABC Signs DVD
My children love Signing Time. We began using ABC Signs two years ago for our spelling practice. On Monday, we dictate and write our new spelling list, Tuesday through Thursday, my children practice spelling in sign language, Friday they take a written or sign test. Although we no longer need to use our DVD for practicing our ABC Signs, we will hold on to this treasure.
My youngest son, who could not write at the time, became a great speller. When he did begin writing, his spelling had given him sucha a boost, he began writing in complete sentences.
Chuckle for the day:
One time at the eye doctor, a deaf couple was sitting across form us signing. My son leaned over quietly and asked, “How did they know I sign?”

Don’t make the same mistake I did. I left the responsibility with my children’s drivers education teacher; learning only basic driving skills and how to pass the test. Starting Fishing is a realistic handbook for young anglers. You will find everything a beginner fishermen needs to know. Don’t just tell him but show him with illustrations that will capture his interest. Your child will understand the sport of fishing; learn how to bait a hook, put together a rod and reel and how to land a fish.
After reading this wonderful guide book, put their new found knowledge to practice. Completing your study with a field trip fishing; bringing this book to life.
Why not capture the moment in your Nature Journal, as suggested on page 25, sketch your fish on one side and record your tackle and bait used on the other side.
Mr. Wiggles can catch fish too! I guess some fish like their bait a bouncing.

A short intro about you, how many blessings? How long have you been Home schooling etc.. Just in case this is someone’s first visit to your blog
Welcome to Innovative Learning by Cindy Q. The Lord has blessed me with seven children; 21, 19, 18, 17, 11, 10 & 6. We have five boys and two girls. We began home schooling sixteen years ago. My poor older children suffered through all my trials although they do not appear to be suffering from any damage. LOL
Your Home school Day, what does it look like?
My home-school day is very routine. We each have our own schedules we follow loosely. Our schedules are really our accountability sheets. We all know what is expected of us, so we have no excuse for not getting it done. I found this to help most when mom is gone because school and chores do still continue. See last years school schedule and chore chart; new school year schedule under construction.
What curriculum will you be using? Do you not use a curriculum? Do you home school for FREE? Tell us about it!
I’ve tried just about every curriculum and then some. I’m sure, my husband wishes our home school was for free. We use a variety of curriculum or create our own, always trying to teach according to each child’s learning style and needs. I do plan ahead, this allows us the freedom to move at our own pace. Being organized makes life more relaxed and structured. Home-schooling allows me the freedom to teach according to the needs of our children not our lesson plan.
Do you schedule your day to the minute or go with the flow with no real structure?
The only times we try to follow; rising in the morning, breakfast, lunch, dinner and bedtime. We try to keep our routine structured and flexible allowing our schedules to mold around all those daily life interruptions.
Do you home school in a home school room, at the kitchen table, at a desk, in the park on the grass?
No home-school room. My younger children do have desks although they do very little school work at them. Where we go, school goes. You might find us in the kitchen, living room, hall, car, park or bedroom. (My younger children need supervision or will get distracted.)
