This Week, And This Week Only...
I took my oldest daughter to Joann Fabrics today. They have 50% off all their clearance fabric. I took advantage of that great deal the last time I found out about it. Last May, I bought $500 worth of fabric for $150! Today, they did not have as much $.50/yard fabric so I spent about $140 for $400 worth of fabric. I have enough fabric to make four entire wardrobes!!

I picked up fabric for costumes, also. Buying clearance fabric is a great way to pick up the really fancy fabrics without spending $9 to $12 per yard! Last May, I bought satins and linens for $1 per yard! We are going to be sewing each day after school. I will try to get some photos of what we make.
By the way, has anyone notice the price of milk lately? To offset my great fabric/clothing savings I went and bought milk. I paid $4.39 a gallon!! The checkout engineer said she was sure that milk would get to $5 a gallon by Christmas. It is getting so bad, we are going to need a cow in the back yard! So what do YOU do to cut back on your milk usage? Do you have some "tricks" that make your milk go further?

Sep. 24, 2007 - Got Milk? (Maybe)
The only real tip I know to save on milk is to keep a box of powdered milk in the pantry. When a baking recipe calls for milk, mix up some of the powdered milk to use. You don't notice this in the baked item (like you would just drinking the powdered milk. ) A box lasts a pretty long time too and doesn't lower the milk in that gallon (which never seems to stay full long with 5 children)! Hope this helps!
