More Sewing...
We finished school and hit the sewing machines again! My oldest completed one and a half pairs of capris today. I photographed one and the other she will finish tomorrow. She did this one all by herself. She even had to cut out the pattern and follow the directions.
They turned out very nicely except the seams were popping. I realized that when I was adjusting the stitch length for working with knit, I was adjusting the wrong thing. I remedied that and things should go much better tomorrow.
My ten-year-old daughter worked on a pair of capris, which should be completed tomorrow. We all decided around 5:30pm that we should stop and finish when we were feeling more "with it". When the oldest said, "things are just going down hill." I realized we better stop while we are ahead and no one is crying!
I did finish my boys silk pjs! They were quite happy with them!
And instead of taking my own advice, I continued sewing after they were in bed. I have been wanting to try a peasant skirt. Okay, I tried. Now, I am not a perfectionist and I never claimed to be. I like the "you can about tell" method. Well, "you can about tell" that this skirt is not going to fit my eight-year-old for very long...
She is the only one who can squeeze into it. It probably won't even fit their over-sized stuffed bear! I made her get out of bed to try it on. She loves it and will make it fit, no matter what! Does the blood have to circulate to the feet?
