The Good, The Bad, and...well you know the rest!
My post title is really drawing you in, is it not? Well, to begin with the good. My TWELVE year old and I are going to a tea party today with a few gals from our home school group. I thought it might be nice to have something new to wear. Last year, during one of my frugal fabric-buying frenzies, I bought 10 yards of a red velvet with embroidered hearts and sequins on it. I was planning on using it for Christmas skirts this year. We decided to start on it early. My Darling Daughter and I are twinkies

Now for the bad...

This is where my master bath toilet USED to be. Now it is in the bathtub. We knew there was a problem with water. My Wonderful Husband already re-set the toilet on a new plug once before. What we didn't realize was that the two slots on the coupling thingee-ma-job (at the top and bottom) are suppose to be at the left and right. Because the geniuses who built our house did it wrong, every time the beeswax was set in, it oozed right out the hole and ruined the seal. Over time, the water ran through and rotted away the sub-floor. Praise God we did not have the addition of a toilet in our downstairs library!!!
Now for the ugly...

This little fella was crawling across the driveway this morning. After snapping a few shots....

My three young ones had their nature study time and I came in to look it up. My favorite bug site is What's That Bug. They said it is a scarab beetle grub. Yum!
So with our stroll down Clint Eastwood lane complete, I will bid you adieu!
(You will need to decide whether I named the bad and ugly appropriately. The two are interchangeable. But then, weren't they interchangeable in the movie, too??) |
