The BAD is not so bad now!
Well, the good was very good and the ugly was still ugly, but the bad is not so bad! We have been working on a few projects this weekend. On Saturday morning we ran to the local home improvement store to purchase vinyl tile and a toilet to fix our master bathroom. While we were there, I thought it might be "fun" to paint the kitchen. My Wonderful Husband did not really need my help, the six year old was the "little helper man". So, we picked up the paint. Of course, we needed a heavy duty primer because in the future we want to paint all the trim.
As we were checking out, I gulped at the total. My Wonderful Husband said, "that is what you get when you start three projects." Well, it was only two, but who's counting! Do not worry, I added another project after we got home! We still had the children's bathroom to finish, so I had one of my darling daughters paint the trim and doors. You know me, why do just ONE project when you can do THREE!!
We arrived home and I assigned my eight year old and my twelve year old the task of painting over the wallpaper in the kitchen. They did a wonderful job. I did the high stuff and they did the low. Then we worked on the doors of the cabinet that my Wonderful Husband put up. I figured they were going to need several coats of primer so this was a good time to get started!
My darling 10 year old worked on the bathroom and painted the trim better than a professional! My Wonderful Husband did a load of prep work on the floors with the five and six year old. We finished at about 6:00pm and sat down to a nice, hot meal. I figured that the rest of the house was a wreck so we needed to sit down in a clean dinning room.
Today, we painted the yellow. My ten year old finished up stairs and then painted the trim in the kitchen. The other two were in charge of rolling. I did the trim that was too high. In the bathroom, the floor is almost ready to be primed. The project is taking a little longer than Wonderful Husband wanted it to, but he is doing such a good job! I have never enjoyed a home improvement project more than this one. I know it is because my children have be working with me! I love it!!
See? It is starting to look better!
