As I have told your before, I love produce shopping time! I am now paying for two baskets a month. I decided one basket just was not enough. I kick in $40 each month and this is what I got:

Tell me you could go to the grocery store and come home with this much produce for $40!
A produce co-op is the way to go! Try to find one in your area. If you cannot find one, start one up. That is what I did!! |

As far as the flaked wheat goes...hers may have been sitting around awhile. Grains go rancid fairly quickly after being cracked, too, so that's why fresh is best! Wheat is much harder than oats, however, so it is somewhat stiff compared to rolled or flaked oats. My flakers (both electric and hand) "chip" wheat rather than roll it into a flake. They are squished, but they don't stay in a flake like oats do.
