A Little Whimsy In The Dining Room

I spent today doing school and baking bread for our Mother/Daughter Craft Day. I am planning on finger sandwiches. It went over HUGE last year. I am still working out the rest of the menu. Not to worry, I will have it by Saturday...

I had my Precious Daughter #3 make a holiday decoration. I got the idea from Meredith over at Like Merchant Ships. She was showing the blog world how your can decorate you home like Pottery Barn without paying those insane prices.

Here is the result:

Are they not the cutest?! Just a little whimsy to lighten the mood. I had my darling paint little leftover wooden stars. Then she painted glue on them and covered them with glitter. I would not have been quite so generous with the glitter, but then what do I know! I hung them up this evening and they add that little extra something!

I figured I would draw you in a little more and raise the excitement level. I know you cannot wait to see my trees!

(Okay, maybe it is just my mom and dad who cannot wait to see my trees!!)

That is a cute idea to hang stars at different lengths from a chandelier light. That will great for our kitchen lights!
