Welcome to my home. As you walk in the door, you may trip over the dog or be rushed by children who are happy to see you, but welcome all the same!
The first tree to come out on the day after Thanksgiving is this one: My aunt gave us this tree soap dispenser when we first moved in. She loves decorating and that was the year she helped us. That was also our first Christmas in this house. As you will see, we count ALL trees!
Looking out the kitchen window, we have several Camellia bushes. The bloom of these bushes are a beautiful indication that Christmas is here!
This decoration is new this year:I had it on a previous post and shared how Darling Daughter Number Three went glitter happy! I have since added a little berry garland to the light. I think it completes the look. Now if only I could get rid of the glitter that floats around!!
Our largest tree is the Library Family Tree: This is only a glimpse! I will save the whole tree for a separate post. I need to keep you coming back for more!! If you would like to see other trees that we have go here and here and here.
No open house is complete without FOOD! I love breaking out my large bag of cranberries and putting them in EVERYTHING!!! Here is an orange cranberry bagel! YUM
No Home tour is complete without a tour of your Heart. We realize that in the busyness of Christmas activities, the true meaning can be lost. To refocus our hearts and minds on Jesus Christ, our morning usually begins with Luke 2. We read this passage every Christmas Eve. Last year, I had the children memorize it and quote it. We are spending each morning becoming "re-familiar" with it again.
Dad leads us in evening devotions using this Advent book:
This is the crèche that we received from My Wonderful Sister-in-law. The children put a new figure on the fridge each evening after devotions. They share the significance of each figure they add in the Christmas story .
Then we end the evening singing Christmas carols and reading different Christmas stories.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. I pray that it will be filled with Peace and that your heart will be touched in a new way by the love of God through Christ our Savior.
