My Bread Boo-Boo...

This post is for the two people who still read my blog (thanks Mom and Dad).  I have been "missing-in-action" for a long time.  Sorry!  I have many posts written in my head, but the time never presents itself to get them to computer!  I have been spending quite a bit of time studying health and nutrition.  I will have to write that blog later.

This was a very important post which I could not wait a moment longer to write.  Most of my friends think that I am the "all-powerful, Master Baker".  I needed to post this picture today to document that, yes, I too have my fair share of flops!!

This is what you call a major lack of gluten development!  It looked pretty from the outside but the inside decided it would make a better pipe than a loaf of bread.  My little guy was not impressed when I gave him his bread with homemade peanut butter for lunch.

Bread disasters can happen anywhere, anytime.  You never see them coming (well, sometimes you do).  Don't give up!  One day, you too will be a "Master Baker" like ME!!

LOL - I had to laugh because I, too, had a bad bread day. I made wheat bread and it came out looking like two bricks. My sons called it "midget bread". I am still experimenting using wheat flour - it's very different from white - and will definitely get it one of these days. I really am a good baker, but bread can be a difficult thing. Thanks for sharing your boo-boo! Made me feel a lot better!

God bless you ~ Julie

Quite fitting for the verse you have scrolling across the top...Prov. 31:30. It's the inside that really counts!

Also, I'm with you on the probiotics. Whenever there happens to be antibiotics in the house, you will also find Kefir in the fridge!

Do you know what my boys would say about that bread? "Mom! That is perfect for egg in the nest!" They would be right throw the holy bread in the frying pan, plop and egg on top fry a bit, flip it over and fry a bit longer and you have a yummy breakfast! :-)

I still pop in now and then!

You can use bread flops for making croutons or for bread crumbs. You can make the crumbs in bulk and freeze them.

Those strawberries look great! Do you just add the dried berries in your muffin batter? I haven't tried that, so thank you!
