What a cute little thing! My kids would love to watch a nest of little birdies grow up. We went for a walk today and saw lizards scurrying about and heard a hawk crying. Gotta love creation!
About the green smoothies....
if you don't have a powerhouse of a blender, you can still make them! Just "de-rib" the green; that is, cut out the tough middle section of the leaf. It can still be used in chicken or veggie stock, so don't throw it away. Freeze it!
Your blender will be much more likely to be able to liquify the greens without the main stem. You lose a little fiber, but the benefits of actually making the smoothie outweigh the loss.
Freezing your greens is a good idea, It makes them somewhat brittle and easier to blend. You can also add much less ice than most recipes call for and have "green juice".
I love being a wife and mother. There is no better job in the world! I have been blessed with so many wonderful opportunities and I want to share them!
