We had a snake the other day. My friend's son mowed our yard for us and it shot in front of him when he first started. I have not been able to find out what kind of snake it was. We poked at it and it did not do a thing.
Any thoughts?
Looks to me like an eastern Hognose. http://www.uga.edu/srelherp/snakes/hetpla.htm
website of snakes from your area. But then I am no snake expert. In fact I usually go the other way when I see a snake in the wild.

Yuck! He looks kind of big. I do not like snakes! Had one creeping up on me a couple of months ago while we were sitting out in the woods. He was just a rat snake, but I was still not a happy camper.
Oh my goodness, that is some snake! My kids would love it. We saw one on a nature walk a few weeks ago -- it looked like it was someone's pet that escaped. I only saw the last part of it, the kids saw the head --- they walked ahead of me and I didn't realize thats what they were looking at!!
I love being a wife and mother. There is no better job in the world! I have been blessed with so many wonderful opportunities and I want to share them!
