Okay, maybe it is just a silly thing and maybe it will be more than one thing, but this really bugs me. I cook all day to make a yummy bean soup, and the beans are not done yet!!! My mistake was cooking them in the crock pot all day today, but not cooking them all night last night. I could have cooked them on high, but I did not.
I cannot stand undercooked potatoes, either. You know when you sit down to a wonderful meal like oven roasted chicken and you think, "I am going to keep the potatoes whole and season them lightly. Oh they are going to be sooo good!!" Then reality sets in when you take fork in hand and the potato shoots across your plate because it is too hard to be cut without using a chisel and hammer!!!! Alright, it isn't THAT bad, but it might as well be.
I was hoping to eat before 6:00pm tonight. I have been trying to cut back on my after 6 eating. That has worked about 3 out of the 8 nights I have tried it. Now I am looking at 5:27 on the clock and wondering if the reason why my Wonderful Husband is talking with the neighbor right now is because God is giving me more time to cook my beans! At least my Darling Daughter's corn bread is out of this world!!!
By the way, it has come to my attention that I neglected to add a leavening agent to my oatmeal apple muffins. That would explain why my muffins did not look very large. My Darling 8 year old daughter followed the recipe. Please add in 2 Tablespoons of baking powder to that recipe. It will make them so much better!!! Sorry to those of you who tried it the other way. Maybe everyone like them better???? |
